Have wanted Tippa for a few years. He and Kossie in the forward line would be absolutely electric.

Wouldnt have so much of a need for a power forward if we had that setup. Our forward 50 options are a gaping chasm in our current list.

Fritta leading up the ground further and delivering into the 50 with Tippa on a lead and Kossie scooping up the crumbs.

Big Footy has a thread that Jordan Clarke is "out of favour" at Geelong. He's definitely been out of the team but that is probably temporary since those geriatrics were the oldest team average age EVER in AFL/VFL history last week at 28y 134d.

Anyway Clarke would go alright at wing/HB for us.  Maybe a trade for Preuss + pick.

walla - along with stringer in particular - started to look very fat in the second half of 2020

still more than capable of performing but he definitely looked portly

6 months under burgess should do the trick

so he's off to the crows, then?

Just baseless rumours at this point. As far as I'm concerned he'll be at the club in 2021. Unfinished business

Lachie Hunter - could be on the table, is he an outside/inside mid? if he has that outside skill i would be interested to see if we tried to pursue him (although obviously has some D head factor about him).

Were rumours about him being unhappy at Dogs earlier in the year. Can win his own ball , but has played the wing role for Dogs beautifully. Great runner and positions himself really smartly. Would be a really good get to fill our wing spot.

i'm not sure this will be well recieved but a player i think we could get for a good price who'd add to our side is Brodie Smith from the crows, good speed, a good kick and would add a new dimension to our half back line. as well as some experience. i doubt it'd cost us much to get him over and i'm sure he'd be keen to come to a club more likely to contend in finals in the back end of his career.

Huge if true. He did have time off this year for a few reasons, so perhaps he wants out. He'd cost a fortune, but he's elite. Would be perfect for the opposite wing to Langdon. We'd have to offer a future first rounder and hope for the best.

They are desperate for a big bodied ruckman.

True. English has struggled and seems years off having a proper AFL big man body.

Pruess and future first rounder? I'd do it in a heartbeat. Hunter is elite.

Andy Maher spitballing to the former Bulldogs captain.

A little irresponsible for the SEN to misquote their own hosts.

No way Hunter goes anywhere unless the Dogs get at least 1 elite player back. He's probably their 2nd most important player behind Bont.

He was perhaps unhappy earlier in the season. A serious drink driving charge and suspension followed by person leave will do that to you.

Where are you @Chook in Perth......

No mail. I try not to speculate. Like i say every year though - mail that doesn't come to fruition is still mail. Things change by the hour.

How about we stop giving up first rounders. surely we've learnt our lesson. we're nowhere near the premiership window. Especially with Goodwin at the helm.

We've used 9 first round picks over the last 9 years.

Yeah but we have no pick this year in a season where there wasn't much to get excited about. So we have to go another season with an unproven pickett and a promising jackson and rivers as our only up and coming players under 20

Lord we know how important a forward is to us given our goals this yr and last so we SHOULD MAKE ROOM for a forward imo.

Time will tell.

All our coin is sunk in TMac. He needs to be moved on somehow but there are no takers. I fear we’re stuck with him.

Not worth a new thread, but Sam Edmund reporting Devon Smith and Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti are unhappy at the Bombers. Would we have a crack at either? Could Smith play on a wing for us? Tippa would be amazing IMO.

Tippa would be a great get. Not fussed about Devon Smith.

Is there actually any bombers player happy at the moment?

Tmcd - your call.  Big preseason to get into shape and get strong and agile.  Eye of the tiger

or f-off and take your big $$ elsewhere

What lesson? We’ll end up giving up the same pick to get Pickett as the pick we used on Pickett. A similar situation occurred when we traded up a year for Weid.

Trading Hogan for May worked beautifully. If it was pick 10 not pick 6 it would’ve been seen as a huge win.

The only time we’ve truly given up first rounders was for Lever and they weren’t the true high picks. We covered that off with getting plenty of 2nd rounders. We should aim to have a nice 2nd rounder and other useful picks this year.

If you aren’t excited for Sparrow, JJ, Spargo, Fritsch and Petty then we just haven’t recruited well enough. I’m thinking there’s a bit of talent there we might see shine next year

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
