GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Fremantle

Why the hell are we kicking to Pickett in a 1 on 3?
Why the hell do Fremantle look like they're playing with a dry ball and we aren't.
Why the hell is Fritsch in the god damn backline, he's our highest goal scorer of the year.

Once again, have lost it before the first bounce.

Absolutely [censored] deplorable from the MFC.

The damning stats for me are:

Tackles - we had 7 for the term.

And marks - they were still able to take 29 marks in that weather.  We gave them too much time and space to switch the play and hit up the short 20-30 metre leads.  Pressure needs to lift big time.

7 scoring shots to nothing in 15 minutes of play. I don't care what the conditions are. That's awful.

At  least we kicked to the boundary and slowed the tempo.

Why do 95% of hack kicks out of a contest go to the opposition? In contested footy there are always a lot of these but it seems ours never land with one of our free guys.

I remember a game out at Waverley in the 90s. Rain. Hail. Wind. One of the ad boards on the scoreboard blew away. It was a scoring spectacle. I think we won by 30-40 points. Against Eagles I think.

The state of the game at the moment is utterly horrid. And once again we are an indictment on this sport and league.

When you look at the stats, we're doing okay.  We lead in clearances and contested possies.

However, the same problem arises - when we go forward, the ball is hitting the deck, and they run it out with ease.  There were at least three times they ran it from half back to inside 50 without us touching it.  Our set up is letting us down big time.

And let's be honest - these conditions don't suit guys like ANB, Vanders, Smith etc.  Fumbles and turnovers galore.

Didn't know that 50% disposal efficiency was considered okay...

Compares to 75.3% for Freo

Really stupid players and horrible coaching. Still, three quarters left to atone!

Just now, ICU2 Jerry Jerry said:

The old Goodwin goaless quarter. Consistent.

On the upside, we haven't 'gone missing', as we haven't turned up yet! To be fair though, there's nothing stopping us turning up, then going missing.

Same crap each week. Season on the line and we have 4 tackles in the wet? Lead some stats but poorly coached and no PLAN! Kick it to Max on every kick in. Jeez Simon is out of his depth. Go already. Weak as [censored]. Should be game over already tbh.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
