Jon Ralph just tweeted "Richmond will be handed a second offence breach. Will cost them a staffer or coach next year with a fine of up to $100K which goes into the footy cap. But surely CCJ and Stack have forfeited the right to play again this year. The details

"Unlucky for the staffer/coach you'd say

Surely some poor bastard isn't going to cop the penalty for two knuckleheads who should already be boarding a plane out !

Obviously the message isn’t getting through , perhaps taking premiership points might actually deter this?

This.

Premiership points is the only deterrent. What do the players care about a fine paid out by the club? 8 premiership points puts the Tigers battling it out for a finals spot and impacts their peers.

Perhaps the fine should be taken out of the Total Player Payments and not the livelihood of a staffer/coach.

I think this incident really highlights the double standards with which the exemptions that the football community has received to be able to move across borders relative to the rest of us in society (except those with money and influence).  It’s actually just plain wrong , part of me wants Anastasia to just pull the pin on this season , morally there is something that doesn’t sit right with me that the afl will find a [censored] way to wriggle out of this like they always do, they treat the public with contempt

the afl are arrogant, maybe a harsh lesson is required here

Propaganda machine in full swing aided by the media. It doesn't matter if they were drunk or not, it doesn't matter who started the fight. The point is why were they out at 3 in the morning in the Gold Coast crook city area. Stop the spin.

So Tom Brown is saying the merchant terminal should really be taking the fall ?

Interesting the kebab guy reckons ‘not drunk’. Not sure about others experiences, but I’d find it rather difficult to stomach a 3.30am kebab after a couple of bags at the strippers!

Surely Browne’s parents pay Channel 7 for him to work there. He can’t string a sentence together and his grammar is shocking.

At times I think he's frothing at the mouth to be first that he posts like a dyslexic drunk with a broken keyboard.

Oh come come Deemented you are being far too cynical. I’m sure lots of sober people crave a delicious kabab at 3am down Cavill Avenue , washed down with a raspberry Powerade . It’s just coincidental that the kebab shop happened to be located next to an exotic entertainment venue.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was
