Hopefully next time we get the wind behind us we will be smart and kick more than we handball.

Nice work from Gus who put himself in the perfect spot. But snuffs it. Gotta nail those.

10 second display of why Melksham will never get dropped

We certainly have to work hard for our kicks.Kicks

Spargo has a hand in our only 2 goals

Brayshaw could've had a hand in 2 as well, but missed.

Disappointing finish there.  Should have kicked that.

Pretty average start but, hey, we lead.  Lots of improvement still to come and we generally start slow.

Surely a 50 against Papley for being in Brayshaw's protected zone?

He should have kicked that regardless, though.

We played poorly but have a 3 point lead. Question is whether the breeze will cause us grief in the second quarter.

Hope we don't regret missed opportunities now that they have the wind in the second,

Anybody noticed Brayshaw has a subtle physical similarity to Rod “Tilt” Carter?

Midfield. It’s all about the midfield. Swans are playing a spare down back so unless we can win some clearances we will keep battling a congested forwardline which Sydney love.

Hopefully next time we get the wind behind us we will be smart and kick more than we handball.

Hopefully Weid can get a touch soon.

At least we rallied late.

Why does Melksham give away lazy head high frees all the time????

Great pressure from Sydney then. They’ve got the matchups right so far. Goodwin will have to make a change or three to make a break.

Will he do it?

Alarm bells ringing for me we don’t look switched on at all soft tackling, back to just bombing it in and mids hesitating with ball in hand and getting caught or smothered. This quarter against the wind will be a test of how much we want this.

Weideman 0 disposals, 0 marks, 0 goals, 0 tackles, 0 hitouts, 0 anything...  get involved FFS

Bit hard when our forward 50 entries have been abysmal.

Spargo. Great snap but that was Wagners goal. Great pressure/spoil

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
