Not to lighten the mood or anything, but the Blues are looking a good chance to knock GWS off which might keep us in the 8. ?

GWS tanking?

Some very radical crazy moves by their coach with both Finlayson & Cameron playing in defence and they were already behind on the scoreboard so no, they aren't protecting a lead and there was more than a quarter to go.

Meh.... We arent going to do [censored] if we limp into finals. I'm over really giving a [censored].

The GWS v Dees game might break a record for most behinds in a game watching this...

We were fined half a mil for not tanking. Year in year out there's a scramble for the wooden spoon. Where's everyone else's fines?

Regardless of the implications of a GWS win, I'll never get sick of watching Carlton lose.  Eases the pain of today ever so slightly.

That's really cost us. Giants have Adelaide, Melbourne and St Kilda.

Can't see us making it now. Today just shot ourselves in the foot big time.

You know its a bad year when your barracking for the Blues

Horrendously bad choke from carlton

GWS went from 2 goals 11 behinds to 6 goals 12 behinds in that last quarter - 200% more goals in the last quarter

GWS did us a favor

Hopefully they can stay in.

Will spare us the embarrassment, and begin the process of a serious review and a clean out of the chaff.

As usual the script of failure continues to get written by our club... other clubs take their opportunities we roll over... not sure what more motivation is needed for this group of players anymore.  Simple we need to beat Freo, Gws & Bombers & based on tonites form we want beat any of them

I am glad GW$ won.
We deserve to fall out of the 8 on tonight performance

Now we will see whether there is any pride in the place

If we don’t make it heads must roll

Too right.

I just love teasing carlton...

Hate making excuses but Swans were there for 2 days acclimatised vs less than 4 hours..  not sure how this occurred, was it afl  or club decision???

If what you say is true, and I do not dispute it.

then there is a clear responsibility on the football department and selectors to get the side fit, mentally right, energised, and ready to play.   And not to play against a side that have had far longer Time to relax and prepare in place. Arguments should have been had with the AFL over this totally unfair or even playing field.

out coached and out thought. Again.
let alone playing a quarter and not scoring a goal!

Do we care?

Would be nice for some Magpie angst I suppose but they're looking rather safe

The Demons return to town fresh off a thumping win over the back-to-back wooden spooners, the West Coast Eagles, played in front of a sparse crowd at Marvel Stadium, the same venue that hosted last week's heartbreaking loss.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
