Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I don't have too much to say about your post, but love your name and Avatar. Not too sure how many Demonlanders would understand, but to anyone with Scottish connections, Rab is an institution. Four knot-cornered handkerchief hat, string singlet, unintelligible English. Brilliant.

Hi Maldonboy. Aye, if they ever made a walk of fame in Glesga then Govan's finest would surely be on it.

Make that five Demons, not 4.

Werridee youre a classic.  Zero chance we get 5 All Australians.

I actually think @WERRIDEE is pretty close to the mark.  Just have a look at how many players the MFC has up the top of the AFL coaches association voting - was more than any other club when I scrutinised it not so long ago.

Reckon we'll see a lot of newbies this year and I think with the shorter quarters they go 1 ruckman. Naitanui IMO gets the gig.

Trac a monty at this stage and believe Oliver has got himself in on his recent form..  Tigers have had role players keeping them in  contention for top 6, but no standouts to have a player in the 22.

Brissy - 3, Carlton - 1, Collingwood - 1, Freo - 1,  Cats - 3, GWS - 2, Dees - 2, Port - 2, Swans - 1, Saints - 1, Eagles - 3 & Dogs - 2

B. Sheppard  Andrews Haynes

HB. Ryan   Weitering  Daniel

C. Mcluggage Boak  Mcrae

HF. Trac    Hawkins  Greene

F. Dixon    Kennedy  Papley

R. Naitanui, Neale, Adams

IC. Menagola, Oliver, Steele, Danger

Max if he plays this week, has 6 games left.  NicNat will have to leave Perth after this game.  He was very poor away from home first time around. Don't forget that just two games ago Max was in both Robbo's and Jake Niall's mid year AA team.  He only needs to dominate three of his last six games and he'll be in. My guess is if Max has a stellar finish to the year they'll pop both of them in.  Gawn is still the 4th best player in the comp this year on AFL ranking and the leading ruckman. (tracc being first and Oliver 5th).

MELBOURNE

Ample to choose from here, particularly in the midfield. It’s hard to think of a more improved player in the league than Christian Petracca. Remarkably, he’s the best player in the league according to the AFL Player Ratings, averaging a career-high 24.5 disposals per game despite the shortened quarters. He’s also ranked among the league’s top 10 for score involvements, contested possessions, ranking points and inside 50s. Jack Viney also seems to be thriving without the captaincy, averaging 21.7 disposals and ranking inside the league’s top 10 for clearances and contested possessions. Max Gawn will be in the mix for a fourth All-Australian jacket in five seasons, while Clayton Oliver’s ability to win more effective disposals and drive the Dees forward could also catch the eye of selectors. Steven May has also turned himself into an even more versatile key defender. Not only is he spoiling and competing well one-on-one, he’s providing ample drive out of the back 50.

And was comprehensively outplayed tonight by Nankervis and Soldo.  I think Max is still a big chance.

Max is a huge chance with the games remaining.  Nic Nat is the biggest threat, but for a ruckman to have only taken six marks for the year is a very poor result from a big man.  He can tap... that’s it.

If Natanui gets a guernsey ahead of Max, that will be further evidence (if any more was ever needed) that the All Aussie team is a reward for being flavour of the month (in a lot of cases).  They completely lost my interest when they named Rance then Franklin as captains.

Some commentators have suggested that Goldstein is in the mix too.

My roughie, Caleb Daniel from the Dogs. From the Dees, Trac a cert and Maxy on the bench.

Stephen May pushing very hard Cutting out the dinky kicks and occasional brain fade in last 3/4 matches.

Really showing how good he can be and why we recruited him.

Five more years of this would be a god send.

Gawny just beats NicNat I reckon and is Menegolas best better than Dangers near best? Good idea to include newbies!

Coach Kenny? Ratten or even Longmuir making a play!!

I’d say he was front-runner for the first half of the season, but he’s dropped off quite a bit now.  Definitely a chance if his form picks back up.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
