Great win dees!!  Suprised nobody on the forum has mentioned this, with a game in hand and Obviously we would of won against Essondrug, and surely on form we’re going to scrape that dog poo of a club off our shoe in the last round.. so we’ll done dees. We r in the TOP 4

Well West Coast have moved back out of Perth, and we know how bad they were to start the season.  Maybe they will drop some games in their new environment.

We wont catch Brissy or Port.   And very unlikely to catch the Cats either who play Adelaide next round and have a % of 138.

Geelong are the team to beat and don't write off the Tigers. Port and the Lions were terrible this week.

Considering we're one win behind the pace, and have a win in hand, and have a relatively soft draw remaining because our early season opponents included the entire top 4, you'd have to give us a chance.

A second chance would be handy in this weird season, but if we're there it will be because we sustained top form that deserves it.

Play like a top 4 team, finish top 4.

We aren't actually one win behind the pace though. West Coast are one win ahead of us but have played one less game than us.

Would be very tough to make top 4 from here.

No.

It's not happening.

Honestly, I reckon we're more likely to finish bottom 4 than top 4.

Unless we win all games maybe!

Stop dreaming.

Even as a hypothetical I can’t see it even if we won every game from here on out. None of the top 4 play each other so who will they drop games to

The "game in hand" is a fallacy now that 6 other teams have also had a bye.

Need to bring back the match ratio column in the ladder circa 1993

Let's not get too excited.   We've beaten one quality team so far this season.

Who?

Collingwood. You'll now probably tell me how they're not a quality team.

WCE actually have played one less than us now.

Not on recent performances. They got belted by WCE, lost to Freo and snuck home against Sydney and Adelaide. I'm please with the win and the demolition job but I still think we need to prove it against the best.

I think we should've beaten Geelong, Richmond and Brisbane. But we didn't and we need to take that opportunity the next time it presents itself.

The Saints game will be interesting because they have a gamestyle that really troubles us so I will be fascinated to see how we perform against them.

Of course we need to beat the good teams. That is a given

But we had to win these games for any of it to be relevent

Goodwin and the Footy Dept are still under scrutiny as far as i am concerned, but the 3 wins in this group (played in quick succession) have been fairly impressive.

Losing to Jeelong at the ‘G was a major [censored] off, but my hatred of Jeelong is ridiculously high!!

We should win at least 4 of the last 6 games.

That means 10 wins 7 losses.  Our percentage is good do if we lose, it cannot be blow outs.  10-7 should get us 6th or 7th.

If we finish 11-6 that’s good enough for 5th/6th.

If we finish 12-5 that’s good enough for Top 4.

We've won some games, it's been good and they should be proud. But I think the top 4 is pretty much set. Don't want to stop anyone from shooting for the moon though.

We won't get that chance unless we make finals as the only team above us that we have not played is the Saints.  Our recent wins have been exceptionally strong so if we make finals the top teams won't beat us as easily as they did earlier in the season.

What has been very impressive for a few months were our massive 4th quarter scores vs:  Hawks, Crows, North and Pies.  Even against the Lions we kicked 3.1 to their 0.5 in the final quarter.  So the Port game aside, we are in great form.

Feeling very optimistic.?

As I've said before, I get the feeling that shortened quarters have hurt us more than most teams.  Go another 20mins against Geeeelong, Richmond and Brisbane and I think that's three games we would have won.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
