I reckon we're playing funny buggers with Max at the moment. You don't say PCL if you don't mean it. He won't play this week IMO.

I agree. Surely it'll be a zero risk approach with Max. He's our best player, but we've also seen that Preuss will do while he recovers.

Seems odd to me, the fuss made about Collingwood's 4 games in 14 days.

It was also our fourth game in 16 days and fifth game in 20 days.

The consensual psyche for the Filth after a loss to the MIghty MFC is to frame, postulate, create excuses and broadly proclaim these so their latest abysmal loss is cloaked in a swathe of self-justifying misery and attracts the 'sympathy' vote near and far. Life is so unfair for the poor dears.

It would never be appropriate for them to admit that they were outclassed, outwitted, conspicuously beaten and exposed.

'Carna Dees! Gee whizz, it feels so good to knock them off their self-proclaimed perch.

Limited interested in bringing Harley in right now.  Improved defensive pressure is the #1 reason we’ve put sides to the sword in the past few weeks and he instantly detracts from that if he comes in. (FWIW #2 reason is crap/undermanned opposition & #3 is more patience with ball in hand IMO).

Gawn and Preuss against a debutant is overkill, surely. Even if English is fit, I don't think the game is won and lost there, not to mention Max's history of performing better with a bigger workload.

Also, we've got a functioning forward line. Throwing a big guy down there with some skill and strength but a low footy I.Q is a recipe for disaster, in my opinion.

Despite his rough form, I'd take Tommy's superior positioning and game sense, every time.

If we are channelling the magnifecent Brisbane Lions era with our own version of the fab four in the middle maybe Max could do a Clark Keating and just time his finals run to perfection, come back cherry ripe for the last couple of Home and Aways for a bit of a tune up then be the player of the finals series. Yeah, go Max.

If Gawn isn't 100% then he should not play. No point risking our captain and gun player with a history of knee issues.

Games aren't won in the ruck anyway, so as long as Preuss nullifies the opposition then we'll be fine. He doesn't give us what Max does around the ground, but our defense has held up well even without Max helping them out with intercept marking. As long as our midfield applies enough pressure then we can get by without Max until he is fully fit. Hopefully he's not out for a long time, but better not to risk him with his previous knee injury history.

How sweet would NO CHANGE be? most clubs are scrambling, resting/managing players.

stability is key. and we have quality guys waiting to come in when needed during the next 'frenzy' of games

I wouldn't be bring back Bennell any time soon adds zero defensive pressure to our line up eg. tackles, harassing etc.

Needs another full pre season under his belt.

It would send a shiver down the spine of the Bulldogs and the rest of the competition.

I reckon if we were able to watch games live, the criticism of Lockhart wouldn't exist. Has shut down a small forward every week is courageous, never out of position and has leg speed.

Apart from a couple of holding the ball calls against in his first game of the year, I'd say he's been pretty close to flawless.

He might play in the Alice Springs game.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
