What they're saying down at Lulie Street

Max and Pruess

  • Grundy is gonna get thrown to the wolves if he has to face Gawn after another 4 day break. He's been playing sore for 5-6 weeks now.
  • I’m tipping Gawn will not be 100% fit according Media reports.
  • Gawn is even more banged up than Grundy.
  • It's clear that Grundy is fatigued, and that Gawn is not 100%.
  • Gawn won’t get up it looks like. That’ll hurt Melbourne a lot.
  • Bare in mind, Preuss only hasn’t played games because he’s been behind Goldstein and Gawn! He’s no pushover!
  • Pruess will be out to hurt Grundy.
  • So if Gawn doesn’t play, it certainly levels the game up very quickly.
  • Gawn hasn't been named. Scared of getting the usual bath from Grundy, I suppose.
  • Pruess be a Poor Man Mumford by trying to Rough up Grundy.
  • Pruess isn’t a real ruck, I actually rate him, but he’s a Mumford crash and bash type who’ll try to hurt his opponent.
  • Grundy the only ruck option we have to match Pruess’s physicality.

Everything else

  • Melbourne will definitely believe their own hype going into this game. We must jump them early.
  • There's plenty of talk that they're one of the fittest teams in the competition. If that's true they could definitely cause us problems late in the game.
  • Melbourne aren't a fast side - especially their on-ballers.
  • Thomas and Mihocek have always caused Melbourne big headaches. Could Dunn play forward?
  • Melbourne is a genuine opponent. We need our best players on the park against them.
  • It's Melbourne. Smash into the contest, choke their ball movement and they'll capitulate.
  • The way to beat Melbourne is to pressure the ball carrier. Their kicking is usually quite suspect. Hopefully Maynard blankets Petrecca.
  • Norf showed the blueprint to beat us last year. Play the man hard and we go to pieces.
  • Melbourne don't have a great record at the Gabba. Their last 6 games there have been loses. In contrast, we have won most of our recent games there.
  • Who plays on Petracca? Greenwood would be handy right now to play a lockdown role on him.
  • I just hope we belt this pathetic mob on Saturday evening.
  • Hope we lose to show what a disaster our match committee is.
  • Let’s omit our second highest goal scorer and keep two forwards who don’t score in the team.
  • The only thing Ben Reid brings to ground is himself in a marking contest. Worst forward in the competition.

Can't disagree with any of this. Let's hope we prove them wrong.

These can't be real.  There aren't enough spelling errors.

Agreed.  Collingwood supporters obviously use Airtasker. Putting so many words together beyond their capabilities.

It's Lulie Street - know the enemy and get it right.

It is actually filth park.

The remark about the gabba stirred some interest.

I stopped reading when some bloke said our last 6 games at the GABBA have been losses

We won twice at the Gabba in 2018 by a combined total of about 100 points.

'Research' and 'Collingwood supporter' never go in the same sentence.

Except when it is being done upon them...

Just for “deliveries”.

Agreed. It should be What they’re saying at Lulie Street (which abuts the traditional home at Victoria Park).

Or at least Hoddle St

The filth have no connection with Victoria Park other than their VFL side plays home games there.

Wrong. They have a historical connection - that’s their birthplace and their original home. The MCG is ours and we should never let them forget it (even when we play them on foreign soil).

You've obviously not been spat on their.

I went to the last Game played there

we had a win and the crowd were filthy and threatening

One of my best ever Dees memories

Then they shut the joint and the smaller cockroaches took over

In the game preview.

"It’s a big week for Darcy Cameron this week. The tall forward finally arrived on to the scene with a strong performance. Now all eyes are on him to back it up with another strong performance. It’s all set up for him to put up a strong performance, with the Demons backline undermanned and struggling."

Last time I checked our backline was doing ok?

Would it be possible to fit another "strong performance" into a paragraph of that size?

Ha I didn't even notice.  Sounds ridiculous now you've pointed it out.  Think I was too busy shaking my head at the assertion our backine is struggling.

Haven't conceded more than 40 points in the last two games.

Who are these flogs writing these poor articles?

Another thing that surprises me is opposition supporters don't seem to rate Oliver.  There's always talk of Gawn and Petracca, and to a lesser extent Brayshaw and Viney.  Any theories?

most non-dees supporters seem to think he's got a face worth punching

oppo supporters REALLY don't like him

They believe that Oliver isn't damaging, despite his elite stats.  That was fairly true until about 3 weeks ago.

They haven't seen the 'new' Clarry at work.  They are in for a big surprise!!

He will thrash their hobbling midfield.
