He was quieter that term, but I like what I've seen.  Brave, has some zip, neat user of the footy.  He has a future.

Free kick count now 23-11

Looking forward to razor ray getting on radio and saying the [censored] count should have been 28 - 5

These two teams won’t be contesting anything other than spoons anytime soon.

The umpiring is appalling.

But we're still our own worst enemies.

The ball was largely in our forward half that quarter but we kicked 1.3.

Kudos to Oliver for improving his game from last week. Bursting from stoppages, breaking free from tackles, it's been a really important step in the right direction.

Lever and May have been huge.

So many passengers though.

This is a joke and not a word from the commentary. Eddie would have popped a vein if this was against Collingwood.

Their not interested.

I’ve never seen a game with so many stupid soft free kicks given while missing the absolute obvious ones. It’s extraordinary.

Yeah but they go to the crows every time.

Not sure y we always give away frees for high tackles. It's like they don't know the rules.

Surely taking the [censored]...

We need a royal commission into umpiring at Melbourne games. FMD.

also, am i the only one that finds that whole commentating team really annoying and frankly, obviously biased.

May and Lever really shone in that quarter. Gus also has lifted. Melksham conspicuous by his absence - again. Oliver and Viney very good.

This umpiring is terrible.  Funnier thing is that Melbourne has been worse

This game is mind blowingly horrible. Just. Horrible.

Goodwin is not the future and neither are some of our players. This is meant to be a response game, its horrendous. Blame umpires all you like but we putrid.

Frees 23 to 11

Appalling bias

Wo's going to stand up and wi us the game

The crows players literally get a free anytime we lay a tackle. They just throw their head back at the bottom of a pack and the umps fall for it every time.

They will get over 30 free kicks tonight... Pretty much the same amount of free kicks for two teams combined for an entire match.

High tackle? For what!??

What is the High tackle rule? Is it contact above the ankles? This is doing my head in. That must about 6 high tackle frees to the Crows so far and none of them were dangerously head high in any way. Then we have had numerous in the backs that were nothing of the sort.

23 frees to 11.

Add all the ones we’re not getting. Worst I’ve seen in a long time and I am an expert at complaining about umpires.

AFL  Touch Footy

Well it’s going to need a 4 quarter performance.      But we are not playing too bad.  Just kept it up.   Hope they do not run out of puff. !!

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
