INSIDE DEES’ REVIEW WITH ‘P****D OFF’ GOODWIN

Featured Replies

I've not been a big fan of Goodwin for a while now. But i don't blame him for the Port lost. We had more of the ball, more inside 50's and took control of the corridor in that 1st quarter and players didn't lay a glove on Port. Then they capitulated in the 2nd when called to stand up.

Enough talking from the players, time for them to just play football and lets see which ones want to have successful careers.

Just finished watching “The Rise of the Murdoch Dynasty”

I wouldn’t pay Rupert a cent

Did Goodwin get angry ? and go right orf?

Anyone with a subscription that can give us a little rundown or a good quote?

Based on the link provided, he made a speech requiring PREMIUM COMMAND FORM.

Sounds good, but can the players put it into action?

That you very much to the friendly Demonlander (who's identity I will keep secret!) for giving me a copy of the article.

I guess it's good to hear that Goody was fuming, as he should be. Adelaide will have a short break, and we should be looking to get back some pride so there is no reason why we don't come out super hard against them.

Me too please

If I had to make a prediction, I think we will

1) Smash Adelaide - we will be fuming and they are rubbish

2) There will be plenty of back slapping and comments about how that was our brand etc etc

3) Get rolled by North

That's exactly what I'm thinking also.

Our problems are cultural and I can't see that changing in my lifetime.

Maybe it is Goodwins inability to get the message across that is the main problem.

If so, he joins a group that includes Daniher and Paul Roos of coaches who regularly saw the players serve up soft efforts in weeks where it looked like they just couldn't be bothered.

As I said to one of Goodwins friends not long after he took the job...he doesn't know what he's getting himself into. At MFC, a coach can't even rely on the players showing personal pride in their intensity and effort levels consistently. F#$ked if i know how you can develop and implement a gameplan when blokes squib it as regularly as ours do.

So he should be. i think i speak for everyone when i say the thing all fans want to see as a non negotiable is effort and care. and if we lose but we have a crack most of us can wear that.

but with this team, and this coach i sometimes wonder.

I think Godwin is p.... off because he knows the heat is coming for him. I am not convinced it is the sort of anger we feel for our Club. He can see personal failure again just like when he got done for gambling and mixed up in the Essendon business.

You are getting personal now, no need for it.

Everyone has their own reasons, he wants to keep his job. That’s fine

Make it happen. The only way he will stay Coach is if we get serious and win Big Games

Goodwin must simply win the next 2 games. Losses to Crows and Kangas could mean he’s gone by years end.

He should be gone regardless of results SONS.

Sadly i fear even if we lost every game for the rest of the season Goodwin would still retain his position for 2021

Boom boom, Goodwin is a public figure, a leader of young men, his gambling and involvement with the Essendon saga are on the record and are public information. Both give an insight into the guy. The first speaks of personal greed and the second vanity. His stubborness is the cause of much of our current woes and it is important to understand the man to understand how he will handle this crisis.

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
