yep....like newspapers the club is slowly dying OD.

We're there to make up the numbers these days.

Going to be hard times for a few clubs post 2021 and the power clubs will show their teeth. Kennett has already had a go.

Finally a watchable game... Carlton v Port thus far is a goal fest.

They had 4 a piece in the first quarter and were actually playing fast attacking football.

So is it safe to assume the norm has returned?

Carlton appear well Coached. Whether they win or lose today, they are playing well and continually finding loose men up forward. They appear to know exactly what they are doing and  are an improved side.

Hard to say this but Carlton have gone right past us as a football team since we towelled them up in the first quarter of round 2.

Smart recruiting and a coach that plays players to their strengths.

They've sped right right past us alright.

That was silly/selfish of Dixon.

Rushed his set shot because he was concerned about the ump sending him off for the blood rule.

Like the Geelong vs Carlton game.
Port should be up by 20.

Port after the siren.

That was a cracking port/blues game.  Port lucky not to lose it in those last 3 points from dead in front, gray saved them.

While there is no doubt that Carlton are much improved, it's still glorious to see them lose like that.

Port to only win by 3 points !

What a crazy season so far !!

I still hate port Adelaide

Fun Fact. Essendon have four wins.  Three of them are against; Kangaroos (17th)  Swans (16th) and Freo (14th) and next week they play Adelaide (18th).

Meanwhile, Hawthorn, at 13th, is the lowest ranked team we've played against and next week we have Brisbane.

Our destinies are somewhat woven together because of the missed game, but it should be fun watching Essendon slide as the season goes ahead while we have a whole bunch of difficult teams we wont need to see again until finals.

Definitely looking forward the re-match, too.

If we're any good (today will tell us a bit about that), then I agree with you.

We'll still have games this year vs Adelaide, North, Sydney and Fremantle.

I hate the phrase "gone past us".

Interestingly, if we win today, we'll have as many wins as Carlton, with a game in hand, and if we win by roughly 46 points, we'll pass Carlton on the ladder (with that game in hand).

Yes, we could also lose and stay in the bottom 4, but the idea that Carlton has "gone right past us" is a bit silly IMO.
