No it is not alright. I would assume it is in contravention of the AFL rules, which are much stricter than those for the community.

sounds like an essential outing to me... no different to shopping etc which is allowed

The guy has just returned from Ireland.... he needs to live somewhere

In the circumstances whereby a player tests positive after breaching AFL Covid19 protocols then his club should forfeit the points for any match that can’t be played as a consequence. If the AFL and the club in question had any integrity, that outcome would be accepted by consensus and we all move on.

the best solution and in the interests of kirnerism i think all clubs (maybe excluding essington) should be awarded a premiership cup and banner for 2020. Likewise all players who have played a minimum of 5 games in 20020 should be awarded the brownlow.

the clubs, the fans and the sponsors would be rapt

I'm still googling Daisy.

I'd like to know why he absolutely needed to go to Ireland in the first place. Lockdown means lockdown, some of us had loved ones stranded in South America waiting and still waiting to get home. Harden up

Can someone tell me why Dwayne Russell implied a couple of times tonight that the Melbourne v Geelong (in addition to the Essendon V Carlton game) game next week is in doubt?

What’s McKenna’s positive test got to with us, in terms of next week,  considering all other games are going ahead for the time being.

Because he’s a rich, privileged, pampered sooky footballer.

The season is a complete farce.

I have to admit that I’m getting some kind of perverse pleasure out of this year. It’s like watching a train wreck, but more trains keep coming along the track and crashing into the already wrecked trains.

Feel really sorry for AVB. He has waited so long to pull on a Melbourne jumper and now this.

Hopefully there will be a next week.

He probably assumed that our game vs Bombers would be played at some point next week and they'd then need to push out Cats game to give us a proper break?

In what circumstances were they stranded in Sth America, bucket list travel?

He went home, not the first footballer wanting to do that?

I thought the same thing. The answer it doesn't have anything to do with us. He is an idiot. Drop step indeed.

Do you mean drop kick?

Well at least the Demons will be assured of a win tomorrow

McKenna is to be investigated by the AFL according to The Age to see whether he breached COVID protocols. He is suspected of having breached them. If so Essendon should default the game.

Wait ‘til they find out he’s been using Guinness as a masking agent.

Does that stuff cure cancer?

No idea but it's great for the immune system. Sláinte!

Not just saying this because I’m a Melbourne supporter but Essendon should forfeit and we should just get the four points.

The reason is the rest of the season will be disrupted trying to squeeze games in to make up for it.

I would also suggest this if a Melbourne player tested positive.

2020 is a real ****show. Wake me up in 2021

What makes you think 2021 is going to be any better?

Wow, just woke up to the news. It's hard to see the season going forward from here for Essendon in a way that is not compromised. BUT that's what the AFL does best, operate in compromised conditions.

From what I have read, EFC seem to have followed protocol, so it's hard to come from a punitive perspective towards them.

For Melbourne, well, I started a thread before the Carlton game about what the season looks like from the FD department perspective. This locks it in now to being  preparation for individuals and team systems 'in game' to get a clear run for 2021...I'd dare say all other teams have that focus now too.

What a palaver.

Ps... this has prolonged Harley's career! Woot!
