Quite seriously I don’t know why anyone in the middle of their career would go to Geelong. They are at the edge of a cliff. I get being close to 30 and wanting a quick shot at success. But Gus would be waaaay better off going to Carlton or Freo and pushing for success for a long time to come.

But he would be best off staying in Melbourne where he bloody well belongs.

I think Gus was keen to play more midfield minutes and assumed that had to be somewhere else - but then saw what Jack Viney delivered on Thursday night and thought ‘Actually, I don’t want to play against that. Sign me up!’

He is also one head clash away from retirement. Chances of said head knock dramatically increase in the middle given the way he plays. I think he is enjoying his role at half back / wing. He is a genuine midfield utility and can play across 3-4 different positions.

There is a rumour about to be released that Gus will announce his Re-signing with the MFC on the Gus and Gawny podcast either this week, next week or the week after.
l’ve got no further info on Jacko, other than to restate that OD has said he is definitely going - so put your money on Jacko to stay.

LOL!  Yes, facing Viney, Oliver and Petracca in their prime is the stuff of nightmares so Gus should stay (which I think he will).

It would be SO Gus to announce he's staying on the podcast.

Max would be disappointed if he did not get the exclusive first

Gus has previously said he'd break the news on the podcast.

I'm sure he wouldn't if he left, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's announced he's re-signed on the pod

Carlton is the club that I can’t work out…several top 10 picks plus the likes of Martin, Saad, Cerra and Hewitt on presumably big coin…

Could we change the headline by adding " and Luke Jackson has just re signed with the Dees for the next 7 years"

Why would he? Performance means nothing when you're cruising on a 6 year deal on big money.

Happy times

Agree. If we had 5 players that were ok v bombers, Gus could put his hand up. He contained Stringer and did his role across half back.  Serviceable.
He suddenly seems a liitle slower across the ground and likes little 15 metres short passes only.  Coaches also have forgotten that he can go into the midfield.

    BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury. The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya?
