Yep that flick was far too cute. It's times like this where we're prone to complacency thinking it's already all locked up.

I think the flip has worked well the problem was the lack of a melbourne player running through there.

Let them right back into it with an appalling last five to seven minutes

agree totally,   stopped thinking and concentrating.

Bad last 5 mins

We slacked off a lot more than five minutes it was just that the kicked their goals in the last few mins. They had lots of the ball just kicked inaccurately during the quarter.

How has everyone seen T-Mac so far?

Servicable

We were outplayed for most of the second half of the quarter. It's actually a relief they didn't score more against us. Hopefully we can get back on top through the middle.
BTW I really like Rivers - he looks a keeper.

Melksham and Jones quiet, need to do more.

Disappointing that we let them back in the game. We are up by 5 goals a comfortable lead but not a match winning lead. Lets hope we find our first quarter form.

Quiet with good little bits, hasn’t really been in many contested marking situations. I’d like to see a bit more from him in the 2nd half.

Rivers looks very good, Jackson has wow factor!

Rivers does look good. Jackson is thereabouts. It's a big ask to have a first year player chopping out in the ruck. I'd love to see him snag a goal.

Struggling with the pace of ball movement so fumbled a couple but he is getting into the right positions and hopefully the nerves settle.

Thanks, lets hope he can get in the the game?

41 points up only a small big lead lot easier to come back from, after the first 7 goals ever side is certain to kick the next few goals fact of football.

Knuckle up Melbourne

Whats with the fumbling

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
