Good luck Jacko, Rivo and Benno!!

Dees by 20 pts relax we got this.

Oh and Hunt to play dangerous forward crumber!

I expect the guys to be a bit rusty, and somewhat scrappy with "connection". I'll be OK with this if we give a 4 quarter effort.

The amount of games I've been to where it appears we put the cue in the rack after getting out to a three goal lead early in the game.....

Do it for Nev. And me.

Just saw the pre game Zoom with Mahoney. Sounds like Hunt will be spending more time up forward for speed around the contest. Has a point bit to prove, would love to see him snag a couple.

An unintended consequence of no AFL for the 1st part of the year was the rest of the family's disinterest in it becoming vocal. AFL in the past had always been unspoken priority, but Id lost my privileges. By yesterday i could sense a gritty losing battle.

Enter a 70" Ultra HD 4K TV for the man cave. My barely used BetEasy account with $2 left (thanks Demons) has led to Kayo being added as a free App for 3 months. Just finished setup connecting with the LAN. Me and my new scarf are chafing at the bit. C'mon Demons!

I had a crumpet for the first time in probably thirty years. Hoping it's not a omentaphor for our defensive structure.

As he should.
We lack goal kicking avenues up forward and Hunt proved himself to be a handy goal kicker for a lot of last year. Anyone remember the winning goal he kicked last year in the same game from outside 50?

Its forward or bust for Hunt IMO.

This sounds like a silly question to ask, but are all games at Marvel with the roof closed through this covid period rail, hail or shine?

Correct... The open roof plays havoc with the TV coverage

Terrible stadium but we're stuck with it

I heard a few weeks ago that the roof will be closed for most if not all games at Marvel.

Expecting it to be closed today.

How long does it take for the roof to close?

They’re using a hand-crank to save money so 17 days.

Make of this what you will. One night on the drink my friends and I had the idea of a prank for morning radio. One of the guys was a Commercial real estate agent. We planned to have a for sale sign made up and have it placed in front of AFL park Waverly. Only the guy did not make up the sign, instead being a sharp agent he pitched the idea to Jeff kennett who was figuring out planning for the docklands. [censored] of with the guy for not doing the prank and maybe having a small hand in us playing at Marvel today.

at this point it wouldn’t even shock me if goody put jackson in the backline after training as a forward/ruck. I’d expect nothing less from Melbourne

Feels like you went with the trusty alphabet soup Skuit...

Wait where has this stuff about Jackson playing in defense come from? We are crying out for quality tall forwards and avenues to goal. Why would you take a talented young tall who has trained ruck and forward and then stick him in the backline?! What a stupid decision that would be. Very Melbourne!

Neogilistic portmanteau fail. I may be a bit excitable at the moment.

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
