If we are all going to die, the least we should be able to do is watch the Demons lose.

Interesting twist of syntax there, not to mention completely misinterpreting what I wrote.

FFS indeed.

Just imagine if they suspend the season,  or cancel it all together. ?

Not just games being cancelled. Midweek meeting for club volunteers orientation cancelled and today at the Coterie Golf day coaches, players and staff not allowed to play. The club has been instructed to quarantine itself from any unnecessary contact with non staff who may harbour the virus. As soon as a player or coach tests positive then you have no team for 14 days and game/season over.

Maybe  coughing on the field will become a tactic, no one will want to tackle/touch you when you have the ball :)

On a serious note. Disappointed on not going next week, but it may help us by taking  out the crowd effect.

as for the argument on over reacting.  Case is the Spanish flu. When it first spread it infected 50% of the population, with a normal death rate.  It then mutated and the second wav3 killed 1/10.  That is the greater danger, a mutated strain that is far nastier.  The more people it infects, that factor can increase.  There is already 2 strains, with weaker version one mainly being detected post 23rd Jan.  The initial case were far worse.

Every pub is going to have 499 people crammed in watching the footy. What could go wrong? ?

Exactly. I mean places like crown casino would easily have 500 people going through each day. Where does it stop?

Also when teams run out next week will they still play the song and will Richmond unveil there flag to an empty stadium

Seriously? Much more contagious than the flu, x times more fatal and (the key bit) *for which there is neither cure nor vaccine*.

And it's not just the elderly. Death rates for people with cardiovascular or respiratory conditions, diabetes, hypertension, obesity and cancer are through the roof.

There's also a massive hidden cost which we're starting to see in places like Italy: because ICU's and hospitals are overwhelmed, people with other potentially life-threatening diseases are being shunted to the back of the cue, with a predictable longer-term cost.

And that's without even starting on the long-term effects of isolation on mental health and global well-being for those who are already fragile.

Just heard on the drum tonight that because of the ICU beds shortage in Italy people over 60 are being triaged not to get them.  In OZ we have 2000 that are mostly already in use.  Good luck everyone.

Every year the Dees go missing for at least 2 weeks, sometimes the entire season. So it’s business as usual.

Just a slight topic change, I hear that the NRL are going ahead with their round one as per normal (as it falls after the Monday) and that good old ScoMo is going to be attending the Cronulla Sharks game. If Dutton has tested positive for the virus shouldn't our brilliant PM be self isolating?

The world has gone mad. there will be more deaths from the flu when it starts arriving in the coming weeks. all the media hype is doing is creating panic and destroying our economy. some states are allowing spectators and some arnt. Unless we all hide under the bed for the next six months nothing will be achieved.

Irregardless, ScoMo self-isolating would leave the country in no worser state even if there was no corona virus going around. In fact make that politicians all together....................................and the filth.

The virus is out floating about, without any cures. It has only just begun. This stuff should have all happened last December, but the Chinese kept it quiet.
If the AFL play games from next week they are just irresponsible and asking for major problems on top of what we already have

Im booked to fly to Thailand on April 6. Checked the Thai Airways website tonight and see the same flight from Melbourne one week earlier has been cancelled already.

Havent seen my wife for 10 months by the time my holiday comes around, so i am a bit on edge about flights being cancelled before i go. If i cant go now it will be another 6 months before i can get holidays again. Maybe more. Too late to reschedule my leave, so it just goes up in smoke if i cant fly.

Footy being cancelled would be a kick in the guts, but i am more concerned with seeing Angkana this year.

Whats the feeling in Thailand atm?

Should be out by the morning.
not one email from existing Airline telling me what’s going on. I will try and retrieve cancellation money later.

There will be  a lot of people stuck from Sunday Morning onwards. Nothing domestic or international for 30 days!!

Tonight I watched the NBL final where Syd Kings beat Perth Wildcats in Perth.

There was no audience (usually a gigantic home crowd) and it totally rattled Perth. They had no energy, no spark and nothing to help switch them into gear.

I know it’s the NBL and nothing to hang your hat on, but the more I think about it the more I’m becoming quietly confident we can beat the Eagles here if it goes ahead.

We might even do them by 10-15 goals. That'd rattle em.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
