The good news is that the medical team found out that his calf troubles were a result of a nerve being pushed against the muscle.

Ive had the exact same thing where I couldn’t walk / stand for months and it felt like my calf and ankle was broken. Didn’t feel like nerve pain at all until I realised my piriformis muscle flared up and tightened around my L5 nerve. I got treatment done to loosen the muscle up and relieved my nerve pain and my calf / ankle completely healed. It took doctors and surgeons months to realise what it actually was..

Due diligence. Love it.

If he's seen as able to continue at AFL level, great.

If Bruckner and Burgess assess his condition as not worth a spot on our list, so be it.

I'd love to see him at the Dees, assuming it's a combined decision by Goody, Mahoney, Bruckner and Burgess.

If he passes the medical we definitely should take the risk: ridiculously talented player

Ridiculous talent indeed. Watched him kick 5 goals and gather 37 disposals against Geelong back in 2015 playing as an on baller.

This is really good news and like others have said, this is where professionalism is important, get the right people to assess and make the decisions. You have to review, ask questions find out for yourself, adapt, it feels like we are doing that.

Bennell is no doubt about it a high risk high reward proposition but when there are 44 spots on the list, 1 being taken up by a player with immense upside is worth it.

his management team has been harder at work than sam murray's to claim there's interest in him

i am not opposed to it at all - certainly prefer him on cheap coin for a season compared to jack martin's $1.6m over two - but i just have no faith that he'll ever get his body right

if we are doing a medical that means we're either very close to making an offer, i would assume? then it's up to bennell

the thought of a fit and firing harley revving up the flanks at the g is tantalising...

B: Jetta - May - Hibberd
HB: Salem - Lever - Harmes
? Langdon - Brayshaw - Tomlinson
HF: Petracca - T Mac - Bennell
HF: Fritsch - Weideman - Melksham
Foll: Gawn - Oliver - Viney
I/c: Jones - Hannan - Petty - one of our early picks
Emerg: Preuss - O Mac - ANB - our other early pick

I have a sense we are late comers to the Harley love-fest.

The question is will he choose us over Sydney, who have been courting him for many months or Geelong who have plenty of sal cap left fro Kelly's departure and more likely to play deep into the finals in the near future.  He is 27 so that may be important to him.

Exciting if it happens but feeling a bit gun-shy after the Jamie Elliot and his Manager's antics.

I remember him destroying us a the G early in his career. Moved beautifully, got a tonne of possessions and from memory he might have kicked a few goals too. I remember thinking how much i would love for him to be be at the dees.

If we can get him i'll be thrilled. One because of his talent, but as important if we do select him it means that the club has dome their homework and decided he  is ready to contribute physically and mentally ie they are not going to take a punt on him if they think he is a risk from a cultural perceptive

It’s been reported since September that 4 clubs had shown interest, with Sydney being the only one revealed on the media. That number went to 6 clubs inquiring during the trade period.  Geelong only came out as interested last week.

Who knows!  Quite possible we were one of the original 4 with Sydney.  We’re generally pretty tight with keeping these things quiet.

Unlikely to be us.

Classic move from a player manager. Keep his/her client in the press, reinforce the message that 'four clubs' are into him (unlikely to be true) and put a little rocket under any club that is toying with the idea of signing him - '' better make your move the dees are doing a MEDICAL'

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
