I wonder how mr Pruess is feeling about our likely recruitment of Mr Jackson.

Hopefully excited and driven by the challenge!

I suspect after we select Jackson we will release some new footage of him that will change a lot of people’s opinion about us picking him.

Why the wait, would love to see any footage of him playing forward.

Gunna call it now, happy to be on record. we're nuts if we don't bid on Green with pick 3

I'm not going to watch the telecast - boredom 101 I suspect.

However, about what time can we expect a pick to be made ? I'll check into Demonland's "welcome" thread.

Its a lay down misere, look at how many goals the last bloke called Jackson kicked, along with his other attributes...

Wishing Luke a very long successful career, welcome!

Am I the only one who thought he didn’t look nearly as excited as Rowell and Anderson when waking on stage

Who is likely to be the best available midfielder and why aren’t we going for him instead?

If you look at the top 10, there aren't many pure mids outside of Rowell and Anderson.

Many are forwards/backs with the ability to potentially push into the midfield.  That's how I see it anyway.

Luke Jackson now has the best possible players to learn from in Gawny, and I'm excited to see him develop.

Looks skinny and needs a haircut.

After seeing what we dished up this year, i wouldn't be overly excited either, oli.

I hope his mum didn't really want to keep him in Perth.

Sorry Ms Jackson.

Welcome to the Demons Luke.

Hope he doesn't decide to join Jesse in a couple of years.

Greeny with the jumper presentation!

Is this an indication that he is now with the MFC in some capacity?

awkward face in that interview... can't say he looks stoked to be a dee. really hope that they've done the right thing here!

I can already see after years of development he will be requesting a trade back to WA.

History tells me we just [censored] this pick up the wall.

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.

  • POSTGAME: Essendon

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?
