That’s what we need to find out as quick as possible. If it was Goodwin’s idea to bring him on board, fine.

If not it could be Rocky, but all the assistants are walking...

Who is walking? McCartney and Jennings were pushed out, Rawlings has gone for another gig after 8 years. Hardly a mass exodus.

We are going to have a lot of new faces around next year.

Bugger

Bugger  bugger  bugger

The only bloody bloke who actually  knew anything  imho

Was hoping hed stay...gut feeling he wouldn't. ..and why would you.

Good luck Twig

In reality i just think Jade needed fresh air and a clear path.....and to get as far away from the dysfunctional  heap of poo we are.

He's  been around this club long enough to know what's  what and who's  bogus.

Don't  blame  him a bit....but it's  a huge loss for us...huge.

I wonder if we might have a look at Hirdy in a Senior Assistant role. We need the best people and Hirdy brings an aura and win at all cost mentality. Thoughts?

Go stand under a cold shower until sense kicks in

We should never entertain that pos.. ever..EVER

I would be amazed that someone inside the inner circle at the club would provide that info to another person to allow them to blab it out over the internet.I say inner circle because they would be the only ones that would if this was the case.

This sort of stuff usually comes from people who put a bit of money in the club and like to feel that puts them on the inside, it can also be from disgruntled board members.

Players connections can also get in on the odd Chinese whisper.

It would be very unlikely to come from anyone in the FD...

I thought you said you asked direct questions, so you didn't get a direct answer, it was implied

Every season there is a turnover of assistant coaches at clubs,  we were pretty steady for a couple of years, we needed to be, now is the opportunity for change which is happening

You seem to be the only one surprised

But there is not much talent out there looking for a change, so hopefully we won't go overboard

Melodrama central!

i know nothing, but if we don’t start with a ‘Sky is falling’ point of view, then maybe North, who need a new assistant, figured Jade to be the best available and made him an offer?  After 8 years at one club, it would also make sense to be exposed to other systems as you work toward your own senior gig.

I didn’t mind Rawlings and agree with others that he was likely our best assistant coach.

But, why is he getting rave reviews for turning our forward line around? We had a 2-8 record under Rawlings as our fwd line coach which was an even worse record than before the mid season changes.

So far, it seems so

Good to see the Board getting proactive

Gee, who'd have thunk there'd be major changes when a club goes from 4th to 17th in a year. What a bolt from the blue. Thank god for "our sources"!

So who is left in terms of assistant coaches?

Chaplin and Rooke? Great. Just [censored] great.

Who is this Major Changes fellow?  Does he run the military style pre-season camp?  Bravo I say, Major, off you go!

But we were told it was just pre-season injuries ....now we find out every coaching position bar the senior coach has been changed...I just don't know who to believe anymore..

That's the problem Mooney I think Goody is not easy to work with

Gee I hope there is a Strategy in all of this

It's looking desperate  with no clear plan

Not to mention a club undergoing a review.

Let me be the first to say I believe there will be major changes at the crows. Major.

I'm one of those, but wouldn't the pre-season we had go hand in hand with what is happening now?  Clearly we made some major errors over the 2019 pre-season and we are now making changes to rectify the situation, both on and off the field.

These changes are no surprise to me, and are welcomed, based off many aspects, one of which was how poor that pre-season was.  It should never have happened that way.

I'm hearing that Richo and Goody are already at loggerheads and Richo is also on the brink of walking out.

He says Goodwin is too stubborn and has never seen a single Dees loss - he thinks they're all just bad days!

If only he'd taken a leaf out of Norm Smith's book - Norm watched endless replays of the '54 GF defeat over and over again, analysing where the Dogs picked us apart. Made the team bullet-proof for a decade.

Goodwin had the same opportunity to win 5 premierships in 6 years and completely blew it.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.

  • GAMEDAY: Sydney

It’s Game Day, and the Demons have a golden opportunity to build on last week’s stirring win by toppling Sydney at the MCG. A victory today would keep them firmly in the hunt for a finals spot and help them stay in touch with the pack chasing a place in the Top 8. Can the Dees make it two in a row and bring down the Swans?
