Well done Max  . 11 suits you

To not select the best actual ruckman in the All-Australian ruck position is to completely disrespect the art of ruck-craft, big boy.

Who was our last 3x AA?

Garry Lyon 93, 94, 95 I believe.

Our coach of course was pretty handy, making the team 5 times.

I’m going to sleep with this under my pillow tonight. *sigh*

What a great achievement for a guy who played in a team that only won 5 games.  Only 4 players (Walters, Fyfe, Cripps and Gawn) from the non- finalists. Max is a genuine superstar!

So glad the AA selectors recognised his dominance this year - Grundy deservedly named Ruck but like last year, there were two dominant ruckmen, not just one, and I think after a slowish start Maxy's year was as good or better than last year.  What a star he is.

Must be going to pick up a few B M votes.........

This year would have been even harder without watching Max dominate his role at times.  Am with all those that want him made Captain.

Congrats - hopeful more plaudits and jackets to come in a long, illustrious career!

Who was the last 3 x AA Ruckman? Wouldn’t be many...

Well done, Max. Clarry was bloody stiff, but Max deservedly and comfortably should sit in that team.

Not really.

Oliver was ordinary in some games. Let's not kid ourselves and fall for his disposal numbers now. Even the blokes who were named in the squad of 40 that missed out in the midfield were still clearly ahead of him.

So happy for Max - he is the superstar in our team. I know he is disappointed with how the team finished up this season but he can hold his head high. I can’t even begin to imagine where we would be without him.

Mate, he was top 5 in the competition for a lot of stats, including #1 for contested possessions. Let's not start [censored] on the brightest, most talented player we've had through the doors in many years.

Clarry is a star and although he could be the best player in the competition if he used his beautiful right foot more effectively, he is still a genuine A grade midfielder and he had another A grade season.

Max has got his work cut out for him in that regard:

Dean Cox: 05, 06, 07, 08, 11, 12

Aaron Sandialnds: 08, 09, 10, 14

Well done Maxy your a star!

Surprised that jimmy only got 2 AAs despite 4 BnFs and Brownlow. More quality rucks in the 90s I guess

well done Max. You are a bloody champ

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
