Because he lasted about 1 quarter, he drops marks and is not agile.  Hopefully the off season can start to change this.

I don’t disagree with that but in the absence of any other tall options he is our only alternative. Just give him a simple instruction see ball and bring it to ground. Other players do not compete against him for mark focus on crumbing and locking ball in.

Just blow the final siren already.

Pre bye I was looking forward to this game as an opportunity to emphatically prove that the pre-bye form of the team was an aberration.

Please forgive my stupidity.

Goodwin's last hoorah.

I’ll try to add some excitement

umm... who will win our top goal scorer???

trac on 22

hunt on 20

fritsch on 17

we’ll probably only kick 6 goals as a team so bailey is out. It’s a two horse race!!

be nice for Trac to kick 3-4 and cap off a good year of steady improvement

gotta do something to up his trade value.

I’ll just be happy to see the game finish without any serious injuries.

I'm not usually into self mortification but I'll watch today's game.

Geez I will miss the lack of effort, skills and consistency from the team.

Thank the good lord the season is over.

Now to the good stuff ( trading speculation)

You mean the threads where we pontificate and drool over all the amazing top line recruits and A grade free agents out there that mostly end up at the top 4/5 Vic clubs and interstate clubs?

If we kick with the 13 goal wind on offer in the first quarter we might actually lead for a break.

I shudder to think of the quarter time margin if North have the wind.

I shudder to think of the quarter time margin if they don't.

Then there's the final margin.

The only thing i'm hoping to see out of today'' game is zero injuries, especially to Max.  Any other team would put Max in cotton wool for next year

I have no enthusiasm  for  game.

I will watch it until it becomes obvious either we will get a jolly good flogging or Ronald McDonald head just pisses me off.

Personally BBO I’d never use the words “flogging” and “head” in the same sentence - unless I really meant it.

Still haven't decided if I am going to the game.

This game will say more about our headspace and culture than any since the bye "reset"

Do we try our guts out until the final siren, or do we fold like a pack of cards in a cyclone ....?

Our history in these type of games is diabolical. Cant see today being any different.

I think North might win this one by 15 goals.

Players decide the future course of the club today...

We got flogged 80+ I think certain decisions will have to be made...

As that Freo bloke said, we don't have time to tread water anymore...nor does any club.

This game means nothing. What does it matter if we lose by 10 points or 70?

I hope we lose.

Richmond got disgraced in the final round by Sydney and went on to win a premiership the following year.

Richmond sacked all the assistants and backed in Hardwick.

Today is the beginning of an era.

I've tipped us!!!

(Ok, not for any other reason than I need to do something to try and win my footy tipping)

In all seriousness, surely after the pasting they've copped this week the playing group should have some pride and put in a good showing. Or is that wishing for too much?

If we lose, I expect the AFL to claim we were tanking even though that's an illogical conclusion; and if we win, I expect the AFL to say we were tanking up until this week.

Good luck to the team. Yes, it's been a disppointing season, but I still can't resist following the day's events and hope, if not for a win, at least for a decent contest. A number of players, not just Lewis, might be playing their last game for the club today. I hope they can finish with smiles on their faces.

If we lose by 70 then there may be a press conference on Sunday evening.

Especially OUR club.  Do not have the time to tread water, results are important

even dead rubbers

You'd have to think there'll be some media conferences come end of h/a.  Our involvement ?? Maybe

So the line’s 69.5 pts whether he gets sacked...

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
