GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs Collingwood

Mess up Pies top 4 chances? Screw that! If we win today they could miss the top 8! Now that would be funny. Port have 3 winnable games. Pies last two are tricky.

From first place to 9th would be so sweet. Probably unlikely but let’s try!!

Just jumped on the AFL app to have a read of the game preview.

‘17th Vs 6th’ – What a sick joke Melbourne.

I’m addicted so I’ll still tune in but what a horrible horrible year.

I don’t see how we turn this around for next year unless we start showing good signs in these last few games this year, recruit and draft smartly and get some luck with injuries over summer. Easier said than done.

Still have a sneaky feeling we'll win today.

Well the Pies are at their weakest all year. We have a few out like Tom, Weid, AVB, Hannan, Smith, Jetta but DeGoey, Cox, Beams,Wells, Aish, Moore, Stevenson, Reid, Dunn, Langdon, Sier etc is a big group missing.

A win today and a Tigers win over Carlton will obliterate any remaining Collingwood top 4 chances. I'd love to see that smug club bundled out first week.

Nice calculation.

We are faarrkked on the scoreboard, I'd reckon, but we can still play nasty against the Filth.

They kicked their highest score for the year or close to it last week, albiet against GC, so wont be no stroll in the park i guess. But we have a good defense and its a damp track, it wont be high scoring. What a great chance to stop them getting top 4 spot!

Payback time for when they stopped us getting into the 8...

The thing is if we lose people will say we can't even win against a 2nd rate pies side if we win people will say we beat a 2nd rate  pies side.

The pies still have good players in, pendles, sidebottom and the ruck battle between grundy and gawn will be interesting.

Yep so sad.

I wanted to go but this weather is horrid and I don’t want to sit in freezing temperatures and risk getting sick before I head off overseas.

Honestly it doesn’t seem worth it and I feel guilty because I know how much these games mean to the club financially. But we have done nothing as a club this season to deserve blind support from our fans.

Cold weather doesn’t make you sick, it’s catching the virus ie like catching MFCSS it’s usually caught by a “loved one”, maybe a parent. But they don’t really love you by passing MFCSS onto you. My dad gave it to me, I’ve given it to my soon to be 4 yr old (he asked for the Go Dees song to be played this morning and we had a great dance around the lounge) and now I’m trying to pass it on to Mr 1...

Get them to watch Hawks game from last night! A club that finds away to reinvent itself & find players who can follow the game plan. A club that doesn’t sit on past glories & could be  excused so as they won 3 flags in a row less than 5 years ago.

I'm stuck in an edit suite today locking picture on my current film, with my Collingwood-supporting editor.

We're both sitting here with our scarves on and will be there in spirit.

This is the first game in Melbourne that I've missed since 2007, so let's see how I go today. We might find ourselves turning on the TV in the background.

Today should be revenge for Round 23 2017. Come on, redlegs.

Goodwin just confirmed Oscar McDonald is playing forward.

Now let me eat my words Oscar!

That can be the only justification for playing him above Hore. Let’s hope Oscar has taken some nodoze today because more often than not he is fast asleep

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
