Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Pert didn't organize to have such a large group of players to have post season operations, they just required to have them like all clubs, mfc just unlucky to have so many. He didn't cause pre season injuries nor injuries during games. It would not have made any difference  to the outcome if Jackson was still at the club.

The Yarra Park training venue was released when Jackson was still CEO, if you need to blame someone for releasing details to the media or coming up with this idea, blame Jackson.

Your'e just having a hissy fit due to the season not panning out to your liking and are looking for a scapegoat.

Who said i am blaming Pert?

We need a proper base. Loses like this vs Adelaide keep showing the true inexperianced, amauter core of the club. We train on a [censored] paddock, in a park alongside a busy road. The oval is rubbish, its small and in full public eye.

I dont think we can really go anywhere being at Goschs paddock but until we solve a complex problem the MFC will always be not full escaped from its dark days of 2009-2013.

Yet Collingwood won a flag training from Goschs. Go figure...

They were there for a few years and wanted out quickly. They also have never been to our lows or had periods of compete uncompetitiveness. Collingwood is a well run club, we have faultered and still sit in fear of slipping.

The fact remains they won a flag from Goschs and we got to a prelim training there. Must be an outstanding achievement given how terrible posters are painting it.

Whilst it would be great to have all the riches of Collingwood and train on a stadium-like oval, pointing the finger at Goschs is an excuse IMO.

Even if we trained on the G, it's still the same personnel, same coaches, same drills, blah, blah.

Overall Goschs is not the issue.

The issue remains amateurish administration of the club and piece meal decision making generally.

The appointment of Pert seems open to ridicule.

The “club house” issue still unresolved.

Casey deal just dumb.

Half baked grand plans announced publicly is stupid.

Massive surgery decision has proven stupid.

May deal looks stupid.

Goodwin contract extension looks stupid.

The decision to retain Jordan Lewis after the Prelim looks stupid.

Rightly or wrongly we are looking stupid in both the short and longer term.

Not too much to be proud of yet again.

The playing group itself I don’t criticise .

Lots in that Mr Biffen

I have however become resigned to the Casey deal and increasingly see it as the club saviour if we play our cards right.

The inner city training ground is pie in the sky.

We need to build on the Casey attachment by targeting our marketing dollar towards that area. The shotgun approach is okay for the power clubs but we have to be smarter. No different than political parties targeting marginal seats.

How about a few subsidised buses from Casey to the MCG for instance.

Was our training facilities an issue when we were 1 game off a Grand Final last year?

we are talking here of the next ten to twenty years DD so in that sense having a training facility that is within the proverbial bulls roar of other clubs is an issue.

Dee Casey Train.

For the 'kick-off the season',  membership drive.     Free  'Dee-Train'  trip to the  'mcG'   ( Pakenham to the 'G' )

If we had unrestricted access to train on the MCG I guarantee we’d be a better side. From setshots, ball movement, full ground drills to strategies.

This is what we should be pushing for. The MCG is our home, we were born out of the ground. The MCC needs to come to the party on this, we no longer have reserves and under 19s playing every weekend, the field is immaculate and can handle a couple of training runs a week. Then it's just a matter of sorting out indoor facilities which shouldn't be hard to accommodate.

Stuff being near the G, we should be AT the G.

Could be the new Rutherglen Red.... never actually took the trip but apparently it was legend.

aagh....  Maybe it could be a Membership trip to the  'G',  with a choice of one-way Steam trip (for kids who need to be home straight after the game... V-line return ).

... or return trip,  for adults/parents with kids ( membership, with homeward-bound Wine Package),   to and from the  'G' ...   That would make it an easy taxi ride home,  from your local station.

Its not Just...  the training facilities we need...  we need to own a Region.  To grow the clubs base,  from grass-roots and up.

So we need an inner-city catch-up place,  and an inner-city training oval,  next to a major station. Richmond...   so Gosch's,  with an office and social-facility...

.

And we need a major complex outside Melbourne...   somewhere for a future training complex.  Sandown or Dandenong-Sth.

I like what Carlton and Hawthorn have. A cafe/bar  area where fans can have a coffee at the ground, interact discretely with staff while watching training.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
