I still love all of you.

I'll be back another day, but don't be a [censored] - just enjoy a win.  No matter how bad it is.  I'd rather a W than an L.

Cheers.

Where the f have you been Wise?!!

Was wondering where you had been wise, hope you are well!

HOW GOOD WAS THAT?!!!

Don’t underestimate how hard that was going to be with 3 down on the bench, enjoy the win and don’t forget to smile once in a while everyone.

McDonald just says he “doesn’t think he did his ACL”. Jesus Christ!

This year is cursed. Horrible game. Skills are embarrassing. Season needs to end fast.

I'm no doctor but the vision looks similar to Lever ACL last year.

Yes it’s a win, but I have no idea where this club is going.  When you look how strong the top clubs are, we are bog ordinary.  A premiership looks like it’s another generation away.  I wish we had the players and culture of top teams.

I only started watching right about the time Carlton made a comeback so you can blame me.

Hunt redeemed himself after being truly deplorable in that last quarter with disgusting skills.  Full credit to him.

I look forward to watching the part where we dominated.

If the focus this pre-season isn’t 100% about improving skills and decision making then Goodwin will be gone by halfway through next year.

Potential for a severe self flagulation if watch anything other than 3rd quarter, a quarter which resembled something like modern football CB

Two things I learned today:

1) The umps gave us a stellar run in the first half and then proceeded to do the same for Carlton in the second half. They must manufacture a nice even free kick ledger at the end of the game at all costs.

2) The crowd at a Carlton game perfectly mirrors the Carlton supporters I know in real life. They are absolutely clueless about the rules of the game. Even I couldn’t bring myself to scream “Ball” or “50” at some of the crap they do.

Here is hoping the fact they guts out that win is some kind of turning point, teams of Melbourne past would have thrown that away.

We are not playing well. Our first quarter we should buried them but basic skill errors cost us. The only positives are we scored more than 100 points and won a close one.

Really weird game, because I thought we played pretty well in the first 3 quarters.

Anyway, I’ve said in the past that we find a way to lose when we shouldn’t, while at the same time good teams are finding ways to win when they shouldn’t. So at least we got the 4 points.

Real bummer about Marty Hore. Dunkley did pretty well for someone who's been in the big league for three weeks. Couple of classy feeds to the forwards under pressure. Sure, some pretty ugly disposals at times, but I can see him being a future Melksham.

Carlton supporters live in the past. They were spoiled by ill gotten successes and feel entitled. They can't understand why they are not super successful again. Just like Essendon supporters, they blame the AFL for punishing them unjustly, even though they were caught red handed. Whingers of the finest order.

How important was Preuss in the ruck 44 HO 14 poss 5 marks a great replacement for Gawn. How good to have both of them playing together ?

With Preuss's performance today he might have cemented a spot in the side  for a number of weeks ahead. Goody would have been rapt with his performance as he outpointed Kreuzer.

There is still something to work with here.

We played much better tempo footy today and honestly should have been nearly ten goals up at one stage.

But there is still a messaging and confidence problem, always looking to pass off what should be easy kicks and then shanking them when we do finally take a decent shot and you can almost feel the terror emanating from the player.

Look at Trac, when it's instinct, he's great.

The instant he thinks, blurgh.

Gutsy effort considering the lack of rotations. If Carlton were any good, they would have iced the game in the first 15 minutes of the last. It means nothing of course in the sense of the season (apart from more injury woe), but that IS the win of the season.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
