Haven't heard anything solid at this stage, just the same sketchy whispers you guys would have already heard .

Hard to know exactly where our priorities would lay given how the season has panned out, needs nearly everywhere.

Mostly forwards (KF who can mark and kick goals, two blitzkreig smallish fellas who have white line fever & can also find the middle) and some outside speed class and finish with a raking left foot LN.

May i suggest slipping a mickey into Simon's drink at the B&F.  Take him out the back for a ripping session with one of Australia's leading hypnotists, starting with "Repeat after me....we must recruit..." and insert the above, i would be very appreciative.

Thanking you in advance.....

perhaps we would not have such a bad defense if our forward line actually kicked goals. Bad as we are we still have massive amounts of inside 50's that we fail to capitalize on. If we scored it would go back to the center and we start again even, instead we turn it over in our forward line and the opposition run it down into their forward line and kick goals.  We need forwards, we should have tried to find the best forward in the mid seasons draft and we still need to find the best forwards in the end of the year draft.  How many games did we lose because of poor kicking for goal, too many..

Is it just me, or does it seem to make little sense going after Keath if we've got May, Lever and a re-signed Frost on our books?  Keath will only come for senior footy and I'm not sure he gets it ahead of those three.

Keith is definitely the type of player who could play up forward so i wouldn't be surprised if the plan is to bring him in and let him and May swing to either end depending on match ups

we do need talls who can stay on the park.  Pedo would have played >15 games this year for us.

Petty and O Mac etc etc all played fwd.  So maybe they reckon he can fwd.

or if we see Petty as a fwd now, who do we have to cover for our best 3 tall backs?  pretty much no-one aside from O Mac, so I reckon we need cover.

Our 2nd round pick no way though. A late 2nd rounder maybe

I would agree in part that we need cover, but do you think Keath is leaving Adelaide to just be 'cover'?  I doubt it.

Maybe they want to move Frostball up forward.

I do like his pace in the f50

I think the plan would be for May to play forward.

Have we had a key backman who hasn't played up forward in the last decade?

Rivers, Chip, Garland, Tom Mac etc have all spent time forward, or become forwards, in their time at the club.  Makes sense I guess for May to do the same.

I think we should leave him to the doggies.  I think we have a better option in Petty, just needs development.  There is a difference between making enquiries (due diligence) and actually getting the cheque book out.  The first is smart, the second is stupid!  If it was for a 4th rounder or a pick swap in the third round, then no biggie.  The Crows will want a 2nd, for sure.

true, but over the last three years, keath has played 30 games, compared to 54 for o mac, 48 for frost, 43 for may, even 36 for lever with an acl impacting two seasons

keath would be our second oldest kpp defender behind may - we'd want to be very certain about bringing another in given it seems to be one area we have genuine depth in, particularly if you include petty (who i like as a forward) or t mac (who can clearly play both ends)

With the exception of inexperienced Weideman and Fritsch, our whole fwd line is converted mids and backmen.

Can we have some real forwards please, who have experience in the role at AFL, understand 'forward craft' and can help their less experienced forward teammates.

And while we are at it, an experienced forward coach wouldn't go astray!

May was originally drafted as a forward I believe, so he's more of a forward turned defender than vice versa.

In fact, he was named full forward in the All-Australian under 18 team.

Maybe so, but imv we need a forward line made up of AFL experienced forwards.  By all means add a few that were fwds earlier in their career or converted from other roles but our whole fwds have barely played 150 games between them in that role.  That Jones is our highest goal kicker speaks volumes of our need for real forwards.

Oh yeah, I'm agreeing with you in that sense. I guess I'm not totally against it just because of the way he plays and leads, and how much we need that in the forward line, at least from someone.

I still don't believe we're really chasing Keath tbh.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
