I want to see Goodwin blow a gasket over this performance.

Too nice guy.... These players need a [censored] rocket.

Could that be part of the problems?

Steven Febey 2.0

Lockhart has an Andy Lovell quality about him too.

It's a cold Sunday in late May and we've got GWS 1.10m at the 'G. This is the stuff nightmares are made of!

Typical. Our captain has a chance to kick a goal after 5 minutes of solid play...and sprays it from 40 directly in front.

Gawn and Hore the only 2 deserving of playing AFL today.

I actually want to see someone give Goodwin one. As coach, he is responsible for the player’s attitude and performance.

And on cue after our captain misses a shot they go and kick a goal.

74 of us masochists watching and posting about this rubbish.

A shame we had no one to come in for a horribly put of form Gus...And the clincher for a solid loss today was Spargo for Salem.

Same old probs at the G, can't cover a.hard running spread team with a bit of overlap and skill coming inside 50.

Been happening for years at this ground.

Sack Goodwin.

Let’s face it. The fans deserve a head and it’s his.

We can’t afford to drop our dead wood in the team, because we don’t have the depth.

Umps are shocking again as well.

What game is it with this club?

We cant go from bottom 3 to premiers in one year.

Id say thanks for the memories but they aint good.

See ya later.

1 goal at half time. That simply can't happen yet we seem to do it with regularity.

is this some sought of pathetic joke, what shocking bunch of tossers

[censored] this club. Pathetic effort.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
