Which results favour the Dees in Round 10?

All the lower placed teams. That keeps us within touch of the 8 if we can perform, or hands us a higher draft pick if we can’t.

not sure it matters much but I think we need say 6 teams to pull away that then leaves say 8 teams vying for the last two spots.

The top 4 seem to be pulling away but who are 5th and 6th in the formula I'm not sure.

My enthusiasm may return after the bye if we win two out of the next three.

PS: On further thought Richmond is probably the fifth team but not sure who is sixth.

How is Ken Hinkley still in a job? Zero effort from port. He has not been able to instill consistency over 6 years with a talented list

That was a dangerous tackle against Stratton? Poor Tim Smith then.

Port fans have wanted him gone for a while.

So the dogs get in front after being 5 goals down and then nth kick the next 4 to win. at least Brad will go out with a win. But gee the dogs have fallen down.

So now nth have jumped us. We obviously need to win tomorrow.

Maybe it's not us the umpires hate... They are trying their hardest to get WCE back into this one...

The season is but young,  'DD'.

Port imv,  are still a front running side.  Let them off the leash,  and they can play.  A but like us between mid 90's,  and 2013...

Keep a tight reign on a front runner,  and they will choke on the pressure.

We've done that on many an occasion,  in our past.

Plays on intuition?

Notre Dame burnt down. No wonder he's not himself. He needs some time away from the game to see if Esmeralda is okay.

Win tomorrow and we are just 1 game (and a lot of %) from 7th spot.

Good result with the Eagles winning

If we could win the next two there would be a case for optimism.

Need Richmond to belt the Bombers

We should play in the Dreamtime game.......we dream more than any other club.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
