For anyone who would care to comment.  I've lost interest.

I lost interest in other teams games on TV,  about 5 Yrs ago...  because they continue to play the bigger clubs all the time on prime tv...  so on principle,  I refused to watch the pies and bombers, etc.

They get bigger off our backs, from watching them, on TV...  giving them the ratings.

So I stopped watching other big clubs,  and I don't buy the papers anymore, nor read them.

I do like to watching the  'Melbourne Storm'  on TV.

I just read about this, and watched that video above.

Bummers fans have no morals.  Real poor form from them,  on such a respectful occasion.

I fear that we are heading down the path of English soccer with this mindless behaviour at the football.

It's getting ugly and it's unfortunately only going to get worse...

My admiration for Buckley grows with each season...

Maggots umpiring both their most favoured clubs. Made them confused  and making horrible decisions for both sides.

...and they became more confused when they tried to square up especially at  particularly  tense moments in the game....."ok boys we are just gunna let it go"

TWSNBN.....they climb out of the gutter and fall into a cess pool. You watch the apologies come thick and fast tomorrow......

Ahhh we didn't mean to be disrespectful...ahh sorry....

I watched Bucks on The Front Bar tonight and FMD he's impressive. Pains me to say it but the filth are getting a lot of things right at the moment.

And by contrast we're so far off it...

Agree.

And it took him 6 years to learn how to coach /manage well. I wonder how long it will take Goody and if the club and supporters will stick with him

Today's was a great game and occasion,  between two great clubs. A bit sad too, because we are not  in the same class and probably

 never will be.

Thats the thing isn't it.  Rome wasn't built in a day and for 4.5 yrs we made fun of Bucks, We also made fun of Hardwick but both have built competitive teams.  The club believes they have such a person in Goodwin.

sorry the MFC is not a science experiment for wanna be coaches.

He needs to pick up his game.

The Pies and Richmond literally have money to burn.... we don't.

If you want to look for a role model have a look at North. What they do with their limited resources is amazing

Horrific umpiring in what was a good contest. Even the last shot at goal, free kick paid with 1.05 left and doesn't start his approach until there is only 28 seconds left.

Jeremy Howe is a better player than Jake Lever.

They were supposedly booing the umpiring generally as well as the Pendles flop after some contact while bending to get a ground ball with a few minutes to go.

I wouldn't have been happy either.  If you watch the last minute the ball goes deep to the hot zone.  Pie player (whose name escapes me) gathers the pill but is immediately tackled by one arm.  Gets chicken winged to the ground and then illegally disposes the ball throwing it away with one hand.  Free kick to the Bombers....ignored by 4 umps or all blind sided???

That same ball is then in dispute...another Pie player flops onto it and feels some contact from behind.  Goes to ground...push in the back? ...called straight away.  Time clock ticks down...point.  12 seconds to go....game over.

The top 4 Vic clubs ( inlcuding Essendrug when they play us) dont get to the top by accident...

He's one of the few coaches i have time for. Is a quality coach and tells it like it is. Goodwin needs to take a page (or chapter) out of his book.

His head was on the chopping block only two years ago, yet he is lauded now...similarly to Hardwick.

We can’t do anything about Goodwins contract he is locked in whether we like it or not. What I would like to see him do, is just be himself and answer media questions like he’s talking to mate instead of this rehearsed, robotic persona we continue to see..

Rewind the clock about two minutes further and see Baguley get a free kick and goal for a hold when he was the one doing the holding. Total BS free kick. If that hadn’t happened Essendon fans would have nothing to complain about as the game should have been out if reach by the time the Pendlebury thing happened.

I think in general in our game we have a culture of pissing and moaning about umpiring in general. It’s a game where a lot of the rules are subjective. In every single game there’s calls good and bad. It’s the nature of the game.

It’s a garbage excuse for booing 10 minutes after the game anyway. On a day that is supposed to be about coming togetherness, while ANZAC representatives were on the ground awarding a champion player. Boo your head off while the game is being played, and even after the siren. Once the presentations start, STFU and show some respect.

All good points Nash.  Unfortunately the mob mentality takes over at times.  The AFL may have brought this upon themselves to a degree with their 'Nanny State' response to the Ablett "Boogate" a fair last week.  Bit of protest booing in there as well?

North a role model for what? being [censored]?

it's about giving a new coach time and the supporters backing their coach.  I assume most on here in Collingwoods situation would have sacked Buckley in year 4 or 5. no finals for 4 years after taking on a young premiership side!

if clubs are mature enough, they are patient and will later reap the benefits.

There's some consolation that Bucks had the axe swinging down on him before he pulled his head out of a@##$e and look at him now.

Im hoping Goody does the same.

These ANZAC Services on before games, after ANZAC Day are just not right.

Why does the AFL persist in such things?

don’t over do it...

Nice goal by Ryder, but he was clearly the 3rd man up in the boundary throw in.

#hometownumpadvantage

Need North to win this to help us get our hands on Rowell.

  • GAMEDAY: Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons return to the MCG to face the Tigers in their annual Blockbuster on ANZAC Eve for the 10th time. The Dees will be desperate to reignite their stuttering 2025 campaign and claim just their second win of the season. Can the Demons dig deep and find that ANZAC Spirit to snatch back to back wins?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
