Will be a spiteful final quarter!

Half the battle is turning up.

We have a pulse. Let's run over them.

on tv they look like they keep going over his head to space behind... either way lots of missed opportunities

That’s exactly what happens when you run under it.

Not the difference but we're sure getting the rough end of the pineapple.

Yes

contribution, not attribution

On the bright side, we no longer need to keep OMac just to keep Tmac happy anymore. They both can be dropped after this.

Melksham having a mare

They keep kicking it on his head when he’s playing on Hurley. Kick it out in front of him and he’ll gobble up. Bad coaching.

Can someone shed light on who replaced Rawlings as defensive coach?

Troy Chaplin, lol

I want Petty! He was underwhelming at first run, but if given as many opportunities as Frost and Oscar he will win a Brownlow!!!!

Ling said Chaplin and McCartney earlier

We are useless against teams that have quick midfielders. Been schooled in the centre clearances.

By God

We are defensively inept.

bloody hopeless against a [censored] footy team. season done. draw only gets much harder now.

Petracca tried but melksham turned and wanted the over the top, resulted in an uncontested mark to hurly.

Coach Goodwin has a lot to answer for with regards to the ease of all these goals. We’re making them look like world beaters. Just fix it up already!

Jesus [censored], I thought to look up who our defensive coach is. Turns out it’s the one and only Troy Chaplin. Makes complete sense now.

Probably played a part in spending pick 6 on May to

7 goals from 12 inside 50s. This is a common stat under Goodwin.

And it’s not just a 2019 thing. We have been similar the whole time under Goodwin, but it’s only gone downhill.

Yet again forward entries are useless and making it difficult on the players, that said they aren’t leading well and demanding the footy. Melksham is a shadow of his 2018 self right now, he should have 3-4 right now but it just isn’t working for him.

Our midfield is doing ok, but at both ends of the ground we are useless.

This team doesn't fight back and win from these positions. Don't think it's happened once under Goodwin.

It'll either be a tussle, but we won't score.

Or we will kick 5 goals from 20 inside 50s. And they'll kick 6 from 8.

Bookmark it.

Melbourne's talls are an abject failure. OMac, Frost, Weed,TMac...

Gawn is the only one.

Weid has played a role tonight albeit a bit of a one trick pony.  But he's there to kick goals and doing that from limited opportunities.

Frost and Weid have only played a handful of games between them.  Frost was crappy in the 3rd term but ok prior.

Omac is the biggest worry for mine.  After nearly 70 games he still looks like a fish out of water.  I would be bringing in a 90% fit May for him pronto as soon as he is fit and put in a propper pre-season.

Tmac looks sooo slooow and under done without any power through the hips or legs.

ANB was just ok in the first half but ordinary that quarter.

I would bench Tmac (he's done for the night) and go with Lockhart and Weid up forward with Harmes / Hunt in there feeding off also.

Send Clarry forward a little more also

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
