I think Hore struggled to find the pace of the game. His decision making wasn't quick enough. With a run of 3 or few games I think he could improve this and be a decent contributor, not great, but I saw a few things we might be able to work with

Posted (edited)

hore looked very toey early - got better as the game wore on, i thought, which is funny, as that's when the backline was most over-run

god our midfield was pathetic putting pressure on the pear as they sauntered thru the middle of the ground

Would like to see Petracca dropped for the best small forward of Chandler or Bedford.

He currently adds very little to our slow side. Struggles to kick goals, never creates space.

May comes in for Frost and I hope that’s the last we see of him getting a game for the seniors.

Lewis for Hore

I think Pruest might get a game on the back of Gawn getting roughed up, it won’t surprise me if that becomes a theme for poor Maxy this year. Maybe Sparrow for Pruest?

Salem is the only one I could honestly say played a complete game, his class was a cut above. Everyone else should be given a swift kick up the bum starting with Petracca, it’s time he delivered.

well it certainly has been a dramatic fall from grace for the Weed .Last week he was a better key forward then Jesse and this week it is off to the VFL.Still seems our best bet at FF but dont expect another Hogan.

Considering he was in the VFL up until round 21 or so last year, it's probably wise and healthy from a list perspective that we haven't automatically booked him in to play every week, but are looking at that position as interchangeable with some other players, form permitting. Having said that, there's no way i'd be dropping him after just one match.

Again, unless we’ve been told a big fat lie, Smith is out for 4-6 weeks WERRIDEE.

He did kick 4 in JLT with only one leg, play him at FF what could possibly go wrong??

No way Pruce will play, needs fitness and unlikely to play unless oppo play two rucks or if Gawn injured. Pruce is not the answer to what happened yesterday.

May in will help. U can't play Frost and Hunt on the backline. Either send Frost 2 Casey or try him on the wing. He isn't a backman.  Hunt provided one of the only 2 highlights 4me. When he dashed out of defense took 2 bounces and  kicked long 2 set up a  goal. The other was Weed's pack mark & 50m goal, 2 encouraging signs in an extremely disappointing & somewhat predictable day.Jones needs 2 lift & inspire. That dropped uncontested mark & subsequent fumble that resulted in a clearance 2 them from a TMAC pass when Tom shoul've gone goal ward demonstrated 2 me that Jones is on the way out. Don't understand y Goodwin played Wagner & Sparrow. We had no run & Port they made us look second rate. Does Goodwin have a plan B or C????

My bad. Sack Misson. Play Petracca at CHF AND TELL HIM TO RUN YOU LAZY BASTARD.. I'd like to see Jordon play another good user of the ball that we desperately lack. Hunt to be used forward his ball use isn't good enough to play half back.

B: JETTA, MAY, KOLODJASHNIJ

HB: HIBBERD, PETTY, SALEM

C : HARMES, OLIVER, FRITSCH

HF: C.WAGNER, PETRACCA, SPARROW

F: MELKSHAM, T.MCDONALD, HUNT

FOLL: GAWN, VINEY, BRAYSHAW

IC: JONES, NEAL-BULLEN, PREUSS, JORDON

Horrible no height CP too small for CHF can play FF for periods though and you would not put Corey and Tom on flanks together on one line.

KK not at back pocket and needs at least 2/3 games to toughen and match  fitness.

Pruess not necessary unless we can  rest Maxy up forward or drift down back.

Main players need to lift Captains and young stars plus Angus needs to concentrate on delivery he is wasteful.

Pruce, Pruess, why not Proose ?

So, I know a long time Dees fan who usually gets pretty reliable info.  He's heard there's a good chance vandenBerg will be out for the season.

The two I'm most excited about coming in are May and Kolodjashnij.  Kolodjashnij brings exactly what we need and what was missing yesterday, outside run and metres gained.  Some nice finishing also wouldn't go astray.

Will Kolodjashnij be ready ?  How would I or anyone posting here know.  But his endurance is one of the best in the club and the sooner he's in the better.

That's not flash re: AVB. He looked in ripping nick during both JLT games. To potentially lose him for the season is a massive blow.

No idea after that may for frost is a no brainer, but we just look so slow Geelong will spank us if we play like that again, I can’t see us getting our [censored] together for a few weeks as we just look so underdone, problem is by then the damage could be done and we might never catch up

Posted similar, I don't have any intel but if the same injury has flared (and that's what Misson is suggesting) then that's a big problem as they went through a very long thorough rehab to get him back up.

Let's hope it is a minor setback as otherwise it could well be career at the crossroads.

Devastating if true.

Poor guy can’t catch a break.

Is it a return of the same injury or something new?

If this is true, how is he going to play again?  This is terrible news for him and the team.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
