Diamond_Jim 12,781 Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 just wondering what people would wish for out of this round. Should we go for the breakaway concept a la 2016 where the final 8 was pretty well set by the bye round or do we want a close struggle. Will 16 games get fourth position etc. At this point I favour the break away group so I will go with Richmond, Collingwood, MFC, Adelaide and the Eagles. The remaining four games are relatively neutral but I would like to see GWS thrash the Bombers. Dockers v North would have been interesting but without Jesse my interest has waned. Quote

dl4e 5,851 Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 Apart from MFC winning and comfortably I would like to see North belt the suitcase out Freo. 1 Quote
Wadda We Sing 10,685 Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 (edited) Boos debuting 6... Some talk on the radio about having the Grand Final rematch the first game of every season, much like the EPL do. Not a bad idea....?......would be better than this every season. buck_nekkid 6,126 Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 I'm keen to see how the new rules are used to change the game up, and how teams respond. Think there has been sone ducks and drakes with the kick ins in particular. I am not keen to see the maggots destroy games with their one sided, biased umpiring. ie Rance, Danger, Blabblett, Dusty etc all get free passes. Quote

DubDee 26,806 Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Always a couple of big upsets in round 1. I can see the Cats getting the jump on the pies Hope the blues give the tigers a scare tonight! Quote
GCDee 3,205 Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Really hoping/praying the Blues get up in some miracle tonight, not only does it take a win off the Tigers, I really don't think I could stand Adelaide finishing top 4 this year and getting a top 2 pick in this years draft. But in all seriousness, surely Carlton lose the season opener if they are putrid again this year? I'll be really disappointed if I am turning this game off at half time. Quote

dees189227 12,542 Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Looking forward watching this kid Wright play. also I would love to see Rance get beaten 1 on 1 tonight. Bolton has to make him accountable and now allow him to be the 3rd man up all the time. Quote

Wiseblood 24,637 Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Commentators absolutely salivating over Sam Walsh... after he hit a 30 metre pass. You would see it 100 times in a game, yet for Sam Walsh, it was unbelievable stuff. 1 Quote

Wiseblood 24,637 Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Just now, Sir Why You Little said: Game Over Yawn.... How many years in a row has this happened, too? When do the AFL stop gifting Carlton this game and actually give it to a team who could make it competitive? I know I'm going early as the Blues might make a come... nah, who am I kidding. 1 Quote
