Has become a great pick-up for us!

Looking forward to three more years of that lethal left foot.

Nothing short of a revelation since joining the Dees. Congrats to all involved.

The figurehead of our Chaos football brand.

Still can’t believe the 55 metre goal he kicked against Whorethorn. It looked like a short pass off the boot, but just kept on going....

on his non-preferred as well

Another three years of kicks like this one....absolute gold.

Well played

That'll get him over the 100 game mark ;)

Chaos for oppo backs, predictable laces out delivery to advantage for our forwards.

Awesome to have Jake commit long term to our Demons.  Should see him into father son territory for his new arrival to qualify down the track as well.

A good extension to go with his other successful one from 9 months ago. Get jnr onto his left foot nice n early.

It's amazing how he's been able to capture our fanbase considering the doubt over his trade. Love him

What a turnaround, from being treated as a pin cushion at Essendrug to now being arguably the best defensive half forward in the league.

He and Hibberd both made very wise choices!

I think I was pretty underwhelmed when we recruited him.

I might have to bump that thread for some self-flagellation.

A sweet finish from Jake but the thing I love about that goal is Tommy flies and Melk and Hannan both put themselves in a great position to crumb, as does Spargo who outworks his opponent from the middle of the ground to get there as well. Smart team footy and a lovely piece of skill.

As for Jake his inside 50 kicks and aerial contests as a forward have been a revelation. Not bad for a midfielder we recruited as a defender.

Not the ideal preseason but I wonder how much his ankle injury restricted him last year, still think he has a level more to go to with defensive work, crumbing and getting even more of the ball around the ground.

Something I've noticed often from Spargo in particular whilst watching highlights over the summer.  He has a very, very good footy-brain.

Well done Milkshake looking forward to watching you provide us with another 3 years of great football.

I was a doubter. I was okay-ish with the deal on a "buy one (Hibberd), get one free (Melksham)" basis. At games I would call out "that's the good one" when Hibberd got the pill.

But turns out we got two good 'uns. It's good to be wrong!

I know I was.

Can’t remember a recruit who has surprised me more

Ed. I actually think you calmed my nerves on trade, pointing out a very good season Melk had before the drug scandal broke.

One of the great goals of 2018, completely ruined by possibly the worst commentator of the last hundred years.

Gee-God-Boy-Wow!

An absolute cringeathon every time this imbecile takes the mic.

BBO can probably help you out with that

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.

  • GAMEDAY: Sydney

It’s Game Day, and the Demons have a golden opportunity to build on last week’s stirring win by toppling Sydney at the MCG. A victory today would keep them firmly in the hunt for a finals spot and help them stay in touch with the pack chasing a place in the Top 8. Can the Dees make it two in a row and bring down the Swans?
