Beams would have to take an enourmous pay cut to play with the filth. They couldn't afford his current wage and Brissy can dig their heels right in.

Beams contract was very much front ended, which is another reason why I think he should stay in Brissy.

With regard to Hogan and May if we get May and give up pick 5 but keep pick 11 I'm happy.

May will instantly improve our defence and yes Jesse will be missed but whilst it's a year early it is best to cash in now.

For those expecting Freo to finish in the bottom 4 next season you just never know. Don't underestimate the massive home ground advantage and if they get a good run with injury they can easily win 10 to 12 games with Hogan

B.    Grey     Hamling      Wilson

HB. Cerra    Pearce       S.Hill

C.   Banfield Fyfe        B.Hill

HF. Walters  Hogan   Mundy

F.    Grey       Taberner Lobb

R. Darcy, Blackeny, Brayshaw

I/C Conca, Langdon, Hughes, Ryan, Ballantine, Sheridan, Cox Etc.

Worst case scenario Jesse stays for another year when a lot can change

Hilariously they’re also playing hard ball on Neale and claiming he’s worth pick 5&15... I’ve heard multiple people say they have been a nightmare to deal with this trade period

LOL. Um, no?

Offers like these only really prove that Freo is a powerhouse club, led by a great, tall GM and a smart coach, and filled to the brim with talent...

...Oh, wait.

I guess they don't want him after all

Ah... someone's suggesting an interesting idea.

You'd have to think this is a possibility. Unlikely...we would all have thought once.

Something not quite right here. But is it the offer ?

Here we go. Let the whingeing begin!

you may not give a [censored] if we get a bad deal for a good player, but I do.

we got shafted.

best 25 when fit is worth more than 65.

Peter Bell End.

The $$$ in the contract is big enough that the Board have to meet to OK it but the picks are 11 plus somewhere in the early 20s? Forrest Gump type genius at Cockburn.

It exceeded the crowd number on page 6.

Are you referring to the cricket or to GW$ home crowds?

Not much better. We've done ok with pick 53 but I don't know of any good picks at 65. Pretty much unuseable therefore no better than PSD. Clearly FD wanted to move him on. Same as Swans moving on Rohan for pick 61

Stephen Powell

Michael Rischtelli

Matt Stokes

Josh Hill

Jarryd Lyons

mmmmmm ........

If true, that is the most insulting, and laughable offer in the history of the AFL.

Freo, you can GAGF. Fuggin offensive [censored]

BB you keep hinting that there is a secret big cross against JH, but at the moment the only evidence of it is Freo's weak offer.   Until someone produces some more evidence, I'll just assume Freo are just waiting till next year.

No panic. Freo know we want to deal, they've made a smart low ball offer, we've rejected it. Until they even get pick 5 for Neale they can't offer it. We just have to wait it out a bit.

The good news is they offered pick 11 to us now rather than dealing it for Lobb.

why wouldn't freo just pull out rather than making an insulting offer and lower their credibility even lower than it already was?

This is why Mahoney is prepared to pay market value for players. It creates trust between us and other teams like GWS. Will come in handy of a Kelly or Coniglio wants out down the track.

All Peter Bell has ensured is that they get nothing and lose their prized asset to their arch rivals 12 months from now. Absolute idiots.

We have to walk away from that insulting offer.

He's giving Brett Burton a run for his money as most inept deal broker within the AFL.

Just wait, they'll come back to us with like 5 minutes to go before the end of the trade period with a more realistic offer, just to stuff us around.

How funny would it be if the Eagles offer a great deal and they get him next year.

Or even better he signs on and becomes a coleman medalist and multiple premiership player.

That dud club and their cocky offer can get knotted.  As for Jesse, just tell them to FO and sign on for us for 5 years.  Enough is enough !!

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
