You're a credit to yourself and your family CP. Keep that effort going in your future endeavours, and you won't likely go too far wrong. Congratulations.

What a classy way to exit, there are lots of footballers who could take some lesson here. Way to go Cam !

Myself and family very much enjoyed our chat at the MFC dinner last year.

You gave 100% to the club until the final siren.

We all wish you well with your thoroughly prepared for teaching career.

We will never forget that ground thudding concussion down the boundary at Williamstown, although we very much hope you do.

Kudos on a career that offered MFC maximum advantage when we needed it most.

Absolute gentleman, all class.

Was ahead of our curve at Melbourne as far as developing a calm, humble and professional attitude. I'm quite sure he was a good example to the 'kids' coming through;, and his presence forever ready to step up would have been a good honesty check for the young talls.

Can only speculate if his attitude also had something to do with how well several players responded to stints in the VFL, too.

"Is Pedersen sooking? Then why are you sooking? Get on with it."

I wonder what his ties with his junior/pre-AFL clubs are like, I can see him cheerfully dropping by to kick 12 goals in an afternoon while he is still fit.

Has been a great servant for the club.

Never dropped his bundle and gave it his all no matter the level he played at.

Can leave with his head held high.

Turned out to be a better trade than Dawesy.

Stuie would argue that point here if he was still posting!

Pederson had the finest sporting attitude.
No evidence of him complaining or being a prima-donna when he was under-appreciated.  IMHO it was no coincidence that we usually won when Cam replaced Dawes at CHF, but lost when Dawesy was at CHF and Cam didn't play!
He earned my respect, I wish him every success and am sure he'll always be welcome at the club.

Thanks Pedo, for coming to the Dees, when we were both a bit 'Off'.

...  thanks for giving your all to this club, and for getting the best out of each other.

Its been a pleasure to see you take pride in you work, and give you best.    you left it all out there.

Goodonya, St-Pedo.

I've been wondering what he might do next. What sort of Masters degree has he earned?

(And doesn't he own a shirt with collar and sleeves he could have worn to this event?)

There would be few players that have had a s big a turn around in fan opinion than Cam Pedersen.

His first match was a shocker and he spent his first two years on our list with people counting the days until his contact was up.  He retires a much liked and admired player for his contribution during the rebuild.

Good on him.

Love his choice of clothing.

Will never forget the looks I got when I rocked up to my graduation at Monash in dirty jeans and an old jumper?

Confirmed on the Phillip Island Football Netball Club Facebook Page. Sounds like he's moved to the Island. He'll smash it down there.

My in-laws are down that way, San Remo and on the Island itself. Brother-in-law heavily involved in the Cricket Club...less so with the footy club now, getting a bit old for that.

Well said, Cam Pedersen. Saw him numerous times chatting to fans in the stands before games or when not playing. He'll make a fine teacher.

Great read. I still think he had something to offer this year, but don't blame him one bit for moving on.

A credit to himself

Good luck lad

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
