We’ve been driving around Perth all week with a demons car flag out the window and our Vic number plates, only 3 rude gestures so far ?‍♀️?

So every car then.

Just left work and in my way to the airport. Excitement building…

I've got 5 hours to kill yet. Cant wait

Just got here, as soon as I walked from the bridge off the plane a lady walked past me and said ‘booooo’ no joke.

There was a plane full of demons that left just before mine. Great to see ?

Better yet, don’t sell it to an Eagles fan, give it to a Freo fan or leave seat empty...

I have to wonder whether this joke was picked up and led to all the media talk about empty seats?

Long time reader.

Go Dee's

Just flew back from the Goldy and walked past Gate 4. It's a sea of red and blue.

Just a tad too much to fly across the country back to back.

I am now firmly entrenched sweep in the bowels of my 4pm Virgin Aus flight, next to a French couple who clearly have no idea why all these freaks around them are wearing red and blue paraphernalia.

Radio silence now for a bit.

Went via Sydney this morning, been up since 2am local time. Beautiful weather here, enjoying a local beer in the sun.

Burned some points to get over here, and flew business. Half the cabin was full with Dees. Should have taken a photo, would've been a great meme.

Anyone watching the game tonight? I'll be heading to The Game sports bar for it.

Went to Perth Airport and was there when they arrived. The lads look very relax and must say this is promising.

Was super impressed by them and the way they presented to fans and media. These guys deserve it!

Win or lose it is great to be associated with this club and it’s players. I have always said 2019 is our year so this is just the start.

I hope we win win but will be proud of the boys either way.

This will be a champion side . As quoted ‘A champion needs a motivation above and beyond winning’.

If there ever was a team that has this, it is the Dees!

Usually a young up and coming side would struggle to make it past a prelim.... but this is no ordinary side.

There are a number of once in a generation talents in this side that could potentially take us to a GF a year earlier than predicted.

I'll be cheering them on with everything on Saturday!

Got offered flight and ticket today for $1k. Couldn’t resist, the thought of saying no and then missing it if we won was too much.

Wife will forgive me eventually.

Go Demons.

Make this special.

They are the worst pair of sunnies I've seen in like forever.

Was up at 5.45 this morning and on the 7.40 to Adelaide. Spent the day here checking out the very boring town I was born in and the sis is meeting us tonight.

We head off to Perth from here tomorrow morning at 7ish and head out on the 12.30am red eye tomorrow night.

Was already exhausted going into this and Sunday morning I am going to be truly zonked. I hope those redlegs make it worth our while.

Driving through Norwood we found this hanging. Is this a good omen?IMG_20180921_174314_066.thumb.jpg.93b5cc4e88e3984268bed76aabedd95d.jpg

Lucky you're coming to the ice capital of Australia.

Head to the casino if you need a little 'perk-up.'

If you shook hands you should count your fingers.

I had no idea what to do with myself today in Perth, ended up playing golf at Joondalup nice course a little over priced but good. The weather was perfect for golf not so sure about footy though. Anyone know the best place to watch tonight’s match in Perth?

  • CASEY: Sydney

The Casey Demons were always expected to emerge victorious in their matchup against the lowly-ranked Sydney Swans at picturesque Tramway Oval, situated in the shadows of the SCG in Moore Park. They dominated the proceedings in the opening two and a half quarters of the game but had little to show for it. This was primarily due to their own sloppy errors in a low-standard game that produced a number of crowded mauls reminiscent of the rugby game popular in old Sydney Town. However, when the Swans tired, as teams often do when they turn games into ugly defensive contests, Casey lifted the standard of its own play and … it was off to the races. Not to nearby Randwick but to a different race with an objective of piling on goal after goal on the way to a mammoth victory. At the 25-minute mark of the third quarter, the Demons held a slender 14-point lead over the Swans, who are ahead on the ladder of only the previous week's opposition, the ailing Bullants. Forty minutes later, they had more than fully compensated for the sloppiness of their earlier play with a decisive 94-point victory, that culminated in a rousing finish which yielded thirteen unanswered goals. Kicks hit their targets, the ball found itself going through the middle and every player made a contribution.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
