Any AFL players stupid enough to read these childish would just have a laugh. One of the great traditions of our code is the mateship which transcends club loyalty. You only have to watch the players having a friendly chat post-game to see this. The Jimmy stuff should be left in the past.

No, I wasn’t. If you read back through this thread I never suggested it either.

The most complimentary thing I said was that we could use a player with similar running ability.

Can we really blame a bloke who left a rabble of a club at the time for $1m+ a year. Who are we kidding?

Having said that, I would have concerns about his longevity, given his knee issues and injuries of late

And what happens if he does come back here and contributes to winning a premiership? I was initially against the idea but if our FD and our leadership team support the idea, I'd support the club. At the end of the day, the best thing for the club is winning premierships and if he can contribute, I'll put my previous hatred aside.

He ain't coming here, though. Melbourne would be the last club he would play for IMO.

Can't imagine why he would want to come back to a club whose supporters have made it abundantly clear that he is utterly despised.  The booing of him in the early matches was unlike anything I've ever heard from our supporters.

You're more than likely right.

Is there a toilet that needs to be cleaned?

Yeah we are looking for a skinny little outside player who can't kick over a jam tin with the charisma of Elliot Goblet on mogadon.

Couldn't get a Jack Watts comment in there?

Agree SONS, Wouldn't even want him even if the Giants offered to pay his entire salary.

Say we don't get Gaff, would we consider Tom Scully back if he became available?

NO [censored] WAY KNOWN MONGREL BLUDGER OF A HUMAN MONEY HUNGRY

Scully perhaps to Hawthorn is the rumour from SEN this morning.

GWS must  have some serious salary cap issues if they need to shed him as well as Sheils

One more time with feeling.

Contrast the way that the Geelong supporters handled Ablett's departure, versus the way our supporters handle Scully's departure.

During his time here, we were a rabble.  Senior players and staff used to pull Scully down with the "over-training" accusation, rather than seeing that a 19 year old was actually setting decent training standards.

Why would he come back here, playing for supporters that really have half a brain.

Clarko is on the money.  Scully has had his pay-day and will now accept unders.  Clarko is reaping the rewards of trading out dead wood when it should happen; not 3 years after.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The Demons return to Casey Fields (aka the Field of Dreams) this Saturday to host the Saints in Round 2. If you’re feeling lucky, head down the Monash for some family-friendly footy—you might even walk away a winner. The first 5,000 adults through the gate will receive an entry into the $10,000 helicopter ball drop. With Casey’s infamous wind, what could possibly go wrong? Closest ball to the pin wins. So spread the word, get down there—and good luck!

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.
