no chance , ZERO , no thanks

I would think it would be very un proactive to have him back

Water under the bridge, and not even The Bridge, but some crappy little bridge out Paramatta way.

Anyway, unaccountable and injury prone.

No way.

As for those comparisons to the Lever deal, there is in reality no comparison. Scully leaving was not just about money - that happens every year in football and we need to cut professional footballers some slack. But the fact that his dad was scouting for GWS and getting the trade set up in the background while MFC was doing all it could to keep Scully - that is unforgiveable. The deceit was the issue, not the money.

i think some of the comments here are a bit uneducated. There's no way we would have scully back I agree but did people honestly expect scully to knock back that much money? Especially when we were all very ok with having Lever. And you're kidding yourself if you think money wasnt the main factor in that.

It's all about that honesty really.  The thing that I think people hate most about  $cully are all the lies.  It's one thing to take the money and run, but he didn't have to lie about it and sell false hope to us for a year.

As far as I know, Lever didn't lie and neither did Callam Ward.  From what I understand, the way Ward went about it was pretty decent and people respected him for it.  I'd definitely have Ward, but never that turd $cully.

Whoa, when did this beauty of a thread pop up?

He can outside run his way to Punt Rd or the Eddie Centre.

Yeah Moon you are of course right but its a bit like putting off love making to have another drink.

Wine and women (or men) make the world go around Ernie. Surely a man of your calibre would know this!

I'm calling in the grammar inspectors on this one.

It won't happen and I too think player unity is huge at a football club.

That said, if the players and club wanted it to happen and they thought it would help secure a flag I'd be fine, because I'm a mercenary when it comes to footy and winning.  Even though I despise the bloke.

There have been plenty of blokes come to play for us that I hated while at other clubs. As long as they help us win, I'm on board.

Agree about the cultural impact. Although what exactly that impact might be is pure speculation.

Anyway, GWS won't let him go so moot point.

And we would never offer him enough money to play for us, so moot point.

More likely to go to the Gold Coast, they must have plenty to spare salery cap space and ambasitor cash to splash around now.  He'd fit right in with the cheapness and tackiness of the glitter strip.

Hell no.

Looking forward to Melbourne vs GWS in 2019 when Viney, Vanders, Harmes and co. can run through him and leave behind nothing but a mangled corpse.

Probably a no. I wouldn't rule it out solely because of how he left. I would lean towards not taking in Scully because he isn't a great kick, and the last thing we need is another wasteful midfielder. We need midfielders who can hit targets, lower their eyes, and make good decisions. We have a problem disposing the ball effectively into our forward 50. Scully isn't going to help that one iota.

The idea definitely has some merit. If I recall correctly, the Scully family home was in the Narre Warren area so he won’t have very far to go to play at Casey Fields.

nope....................................................................................................................nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.

If it's one thing we prove for the rest of this decade, it's that him leaving us for GWS was the wrong move.

We can't do that if we welcome him back. I want him to watch Is rise and have him wish he was a part of it.

Heard him interviewed on the radio yesterday; pretty clear that he holds little or no affection for the Dees.  Talked about how difficult the booing and money bags stunts when he played us was. Feelings mutual. Interestingly he does keep in contact with Max (a little bit)

Im glad the OP has asked the question because it is a good one.

However that doesn’t mean I’m not going to emphatically say no. He’s quite a player and we could use his type, he took an offer we all would have taken but HE LIED. He lied, lied and lied some more. The Ox called him out on SEN and he lied down the phone to him. The Tom Lynch saga, as ugly as it was ended with him telling the football club he was leaving. Tom could have saved a lot of face by doing something similar. I’ll never forget the garbage both father and son were saying at Tullamarine, “Oh yeah just going up to have a look”. I think we all know without being a fly on the wall how his manager would have briefed both of them before that encounter with the media. Give me Jack Watts’s integrity over Scully’s anyday.

Babowwww.

What makes you say that? I don't think he's the kind of player we need at all. I agree with the earlier comments re: his lack of polish meaning he doesn't fit the bill.

I think the more pertinent question is what makes you say that?

Running machine with speed, both elite anaerobic and aerobic fitness who kicks very well. Fits the attributes we need.

Scully is a crap kick.
