Nash you left out dwarf tossing. Perhaps that should be throwing, either way inappropriate.

Dwarf tossing?  I thought that it was dwarf burning, or is that a St.Kilda exclusive?

Looked fit and well.

Loved the little banter between him and Salem right in front of me though!

Salem sprayed a kick on his right foot with Jetta right on his backside and Jetta yelled "ahh thats the pressure right there"

Salem: "[censored] off mate!" ?

He also pulled Dion Johnstone aside to do some one on one body positioning and contest work too.

Ready to go.

Nev is just an amazing person and club man.  Well done to keep this up even during his finals.

Hope it is enough to get Dion one more year on his contract.

Who knows what New can inspire him to achieve.  After all, he himself was delisted and rookied under Roos.

Not disputing that we’d miss him and that Smith is a downgrade - that’s why Hibberd is a lock 22 and Smith is on the fringe. Just that I doubt it would be the difference between losing and winning as the loss of other players who are completely irreplaceable would be. The gap between Oliver and our next available midfielder is nowhere near as large as the gap between Hibberd and Smith, for example.

If for your life, you had to choose one from the following players to get injured, which would you choose?

a) Jetta (best small)

b) Hibberd (best flanker)

c) Oliver (best mid)

d) Gawn (best ruck)

e) TMac (best tall)

?

f) Jack Watts ??

Just tell Nev he has to defend 1v6 on friday. I'm sure he'll do the job.

My wife just told me Hibbo did a very intense training session indoors after leaving the track early. Anyone else hear this?

Your wife an insider DZ ?? Sounds like she's getting some good intel.

Unfortunately not pd. She was told by a friend and as far as I am aware she’s not an insider either.

He did the whole session, assume he will play with Casey, was up and about when I spoke to him, reckon he is setting himself for a big game again

What Saty said..

I was suprised how up and about he was,  you'd think a bloke in his position who probably knows his time is up would bit down in the dumps.. but credit to him, he's playing a fantastic leadership role down at Casey.

LOL what are the odds of that.

Is she a Dees supporter?

Hibbo is fine

Gawn is fine

Nev is fine

Salem is fine (for an Arsenal supporter)

Nothing to see here

And James Harmes carries off my bowler hat with style

I'm trying to work out whether your top is a copy of Harmes' sleeve or whether he's tried to copy your top onto his arm.

What this photo does show yet again is how big these blokes are (to borrow a Michael Palin quote, "even the small ones are big!")  My brother (a fraction under 6') bumped into Jake Melksham and was taken aback by how tall he was.

Methuselah lives, but at age 969 there would appear to be an age difference.

Pedo was the first person cheering the team as they walked off the G down the race on Friday ,  and I've seen his genuine excitement for the team on multiple occasions this year when he wasn't part of the 22.

It's great to see.

Not to put too fine a point on it DZ but I wouldn't get home from work early one day if you know what I mean......

Great credit to Pedo who has played his role whenever asked - not the best player on the list by any means, but still a vital cog in the overall scheme of things.  If he wants to go on, he would be worth another year on the Casey list, at least. (As an aside, was Jeffy there on Friday night?)

Amazing what a tight knit group we have now.

There don't seem to be any 'outsiders' nor any who don't buy in to the ultimate goal.

After many dark decades a bright light beckons.

GO DEMONS!!!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
