how many goals will Tyson Turnovers Total?

I've not been Tyson's biggest fan (for this reason), but I feel he's really tightened this aspect of his game in the second half of the year. I think he's been pretty handy, if not very good at times!

Holly [censored] I’m starting to get pumped for this, I reakon when we kick our 1st goal it will be deafening you will hear 12 years of absolute release come out of our supporters

I started posting on the old site (run by Andy and Jack) in November 2002.  It had been going at least couple of years before I joined.

Agree. Yeah, I haven't been a fan generally, but he's done a couple of nice things here and there, but the reality is that Hannan is more likely to hit the scoreboard. JKH has some work to do, but can have a solid crack at it in 2019, especially with a few more games this year.

I really thought he was gone this year but to his credit he's just kept working away.

Maybe another Nev Jetta story of perseverance for JKH over the next couple of years.

Yeah I remember that one. Joined around the same time.

Gosh how is everyone feeling 24 hours out? I hitnk the bye was good because I didn't have to think about our final. But watching tonight it does make you feel excited about tomorrow night.

I must admit I have a few fears running through my head. One is geelong get off to a good start and we are playing catch up all night, or we miss our first few shots at goals and that just builds pressure.

It would be great if we kicked the first goal at least or the first few. The crowd will be loud.

That roar at the end of the national anthem will be something tomorrow night.

Im going from work to the G. Im excited. I just can't handle a close game again.

Come on boys get the job done.

JKH seriously unlucky, but that is great news for the club.

Go back only 2 or 3 months ago and he was a certain delist. Now he not only deserves a contract for next year, but many of us would not have been disappointed to have him in the team for tomorrow.

Keep your head up Jay, you are far from finished matey.

Respect.

Very glad to see Tyson in the side.  He was part of the bedrock of our midfeild during the early years of the teams reemergence.  Whilst he did seem to struggle with the pace of our improvement and find himself somewhat on the outer in the last two seasons, I think like others, his perservance and ability to improve and reinvent parts of his game are a real credit to him.  Have noticed some really good ball use and involvement in passages of play from Tyson over the past few months (think you will find it was Tyson that shot out a couple of great handpasses to Lewis Vs the Crows that resulted in clutch goals during the course of that game for example).

Interesting article from Wayne Carey in the Fairfax press, asserting that whilst Geelong have some great star power, the rest of their 22 is not as good as ours.  Guys like Tyson are part of that picture.

GO DEMONS - hanging out for Friday night big time.

Yeah, I think he's given himself an opportunity to find his place in the team. At least another year, probably. Will be interesting to see if he's another story of perseverance!

I feel the same! I'm calm now, but I hope for the sake of my nerves on the night that we kick the first few. It'll be electric. I'll be heading there as well, don't think I'll be able to work haha

What is wrong with me, I just checked the ladder.

Creeping, creeping, tension, the occasional shiver up the spine or through my ribs.

Much more affected than I thought I'd be this far out from it. Gonna be trouble tomorrow night.

Could have been worse LG, you could have tried to run the ladder predictor.  :)

I really think it will be us that comes out breathing fire. Our starts in the second half of the season and in the last few games have been very good. I really think we will be well in control at the first break.

Tyson is a better player to have in the team than JKH, it’s a credit to him that he’s managed to get up for the game. JKH is unlucky but that’s the way to cookie crumbles. Has he earned a one year extension?

Watching the Tigers v Hawks game has definitely got me pumped for tomorrow, massive day for the club. Pound for pound I feel we are a better team than the cats, I’m expecting the cats to try some tactics early in the game to unsettle us. The last big stage we were on (QB) we started poorly and never got our mojo going, we need scoreboard pressure early to settle us.

Biggest question mark for me is how we play Viney? He’s our unknown X factor, could be massive or could go unsighted for a bit.

No, he has earnt a two year extension, may not be in our first 22, but is getting there and has improved enormously

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
