WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS

He wants to leave Norf because he doesn’t want to play in the state league. Does this mean we intend on playing two genuine rucks?

Why would he want to come and play second fiddle to the AA ruckman? You’d think we would be the last place a ruckman desperate to establish himself would choose.

Brilliant. Gawn won’t be able to carry this huge work load every year and stay on the park.

This would be a good get, and Max has been a fan of his.

Agreed 100%.

We cant go in to next season with Max King and Filipovic as our backup ruckmen.

He should go to Carltank

kruezer escapes number 1 scrutiny yet Watts #1 always gets mentioned

Not a very fair comparison IMO.

When Kruezer is fit he is a gun.

Been plagued by injury nearly his whole career.

If the price is right I would absolutely take him. He’s no Gawn, but miles better than king and flipper.

Ditch king and flipper, play Hogan in defence, alternate preuss and Gawn in the ruck resting forward.

use additional spot on list for further midfield depth/outside run

Interesting issue: would any half decent ruckman want to play second fiddle most of the time.

Also interesting is that Max apparently thought that Flip was the next big thing too.

I think Gawn referred to him as his favoured opposition player during the preseason... after he dumped TMac in AFLX:

“My favourite opposition player against my least favourite teammate...”

Gawn coached Flip in juniors and liked him which is a natural reaction to coaching any kid with a bit of talent. But I think that's different to actually having come up against a guy at AFL level and seen his talent. Preuss has a lot of talent, but I'm not sure why he'd leave being stuck behind Goldy to be stuck behind Gawn.

We could play both but not if Weeds is playing like he is now. We certainly aren't in a position to promise games.

there is absolutely no way Mitch King will be kept on the list after last week's performance.

This would be a very smart move by MFC and needed.

I believe both Preuss and Gawn can play in the same side most definitely! I think having both throws a spanner ? in the works for oppositions too match up on.

We can’t drive big Max into the ground...

Preuss is a big man who can throw his weight around and soften the opposition with making an impact. He can ruck and play forward.

A Massive YES from me...

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
