Garlett was good in VFL so he has at least put his hand up.

Spargo cannot be dropped on today's form though.

I agree with above:

Viney and Hannan in.

Tyson and Kent out.

Simples (chipmunk squeak)

Hannan and Viney in,hope we don't get anymore injuries though cupboard is starting to get a bit bare. Don't want our finals campaign to be derailed.

Spargo will benefit the most from a week off, so he stays in.

JKH made a few critical errors and it was painfully obvious most players were looking for options other than him, even when he was the open player. Other than that he was ok.

For me it's Tyson and Kent out for:

Viney and Hannan.

Would also look at JKH for Garlett but JKH applies way more pressure and covers the ground. Garlett, on song, kicks goals. Tough one.

Do not want Bugg

Watch the highlights and look how many goals Spargo was directly involved in ... he is a silent assassin.  So many important touches.

With two weeks to freshen up he will play vs the Cats....  not bad playing your first final at 18 years of age!

Spargo was far from great today

Crumbed well, distributed well and set up a few goals. Will be playing finals on today’s effort, take it to the bank!

It looks as if there will be two compulsory changes.

I wouldn't be so sure. 2 weeks is a long time in footy, especially come finals.

Brilliant finish to the season, big energy boost going into finals (I don’t like the week off), hope we can maintain the rage.

JKH, well done!! Keep building on it and meh me off.

Friday night final... that f k. At the G thank f k. The goodly wife has the ballet on Sat night and was going To sell her tickets as I was going to fly to Sydney if we played GWS. I get to nurse a hang over managing to kids under 3 Sat night, yeas!

Just you wait. Fast forward 12 years and we'll have won 5 premierships and it'll be the first non-finals year of his career. He'll be the reverse Jones.

There's a job to do for sure.

I suspect one of Tyson and Kent will get up. So for mine would be:

Viney for JKH

Joel Smith for either Tyson/Kent, then move Fritsch up the ground (wing or forward).

If Garlett plays another decent game, selection could get tricky, especially as the logical out if he comes in would be Spargo - which would be a bit stiff.

Going to throw a curve, what if Hunt passes his test and plays in VFL unscathed on Saturday? Would you put him on the short list of ins? Geelong aren't known for being a quick team and his pace could be handy against that mob.

Could possibly be:

Ins: Hannan, Viney, Hunt

Out: Kent, Tyson, JKH.

Didn't mind JKH today, but I do like hunts pace. The cat's have been a tough assignment for us, I think we need to load up with whatever weapons we have.

What a great run from vanders to be entrenched in that side. Amazing.

If Tyson is done then Viney and Hannan.

JKH survives as he is serviceable and is more use than Bugg.

vandenFyfe is showing why I fell in love with him from that first NAB Challenge game.

Having said that, I really doubted his body would hold up like he has but so good to see him back in the team as a vital contributor.

He is also a big effing unit and uses the whole apartment.

I think Spargo is underrated a little round these parts.  He had a hand in a number of goals today with his crumbing work.  As others have stated, with Kent and Tyson both going out, there is no chance that Spargo doesn't play.

Spargo really showed his worth for mine today especially in the second half. I know he’s probably feeling it but he’d be pretty stiff to get droppped based on today.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
