I listen to triple m footy a bit when I'm stuck working during the games, Juddy is pretty bullish on the Dees and how well they could do in finals, I got the feeling that he doesn't want the Dees to be celebrating so much for just making finals when he thinks we should go further?

I understand what he's getting at, but considering how long it's been for the club, you can understand the players getting pumped up about it. ?

Spot on. That's how I read it as well.

Lets just wait and see what happens when his team Carlton finally make the finals again lets see how much they celebrate when they win to Qualify for the finals it will be interesting to hear his thoughts then time will tell.

They will be getting a"dial a quote" from him in a nursing home. Could be a long time.

I did notice that we didn’t celebrate each goal we scored as much as in the previous matches . It was more focused on getting the job and winning done . Staying in the moment . It was only those in the last quarter that they began to celebrate the goals with more zeal..

Looking at the scenes I actually don’t think we celebrated that hard, considering everything we’ve been through you would’ve forgiven Jonesy for doing a victory sprint around the ground.

It was a big match, it was a tight match, it was relief, but I don’t think we actually celebrated that hard. ?‍♂️

I am with you.... the 3 hr delayed flight home would have definitely dented the spirits also...

Judd is a cold robot...who cares what he thinks...

Guy in media, paid stupid money to make comments, makes comment. Probably a little provocative, but also complimentary at the same time. That's the industry in Australia. More than double the number of media cover AFL compared to federal politics. Such comments should be water off a ducks back. Don't bother shooting the messenger. Don't waste your time getting worked up over nothing. The opinions of Demonlanders mean much more. They know their team. They know what it means to break a 12-year drought. Most in the AFL media know nine-tenths if f*** all!

If Judd thought the players after-the-siren celebration was over the top he should have been at my place on Sunday..

Just a troll comment from Judd to start an argument/debate on footy classified which is what that show is all about Fake debate and"heated" arguments. Who cares

Juddy thinks we can win the flag and this will hopefully be a little reminder not to get ahead of ourselves

After he said it, he also mentioned that we can go all the way. He just made the point that we need to keep focus. Lloyd also had a good opinion of us, but was happy for us to unite and celebrate together

Bit of unfair criticism for Judd here.  You gotta remember he was captain at Meth Coast where Cousins, Gardiner, Chick etc all knew a thing or two about celebrations.

Respect.

Wow people are ready to defend Jack Watts in the other thread to the hilt but when a champion of the game has a say you’re all ready to get the knives out. Can not believe the double standards. Judd is an icon of the game who has walked the walk and tasted success so he probably knows a little about what he’s talking about. Watts wouldn’t be Judd’s bootlace.

WTF has this to do with Watts!?  I think we need a file where we can record the most irrelevant mentions of Watts made in a thread.  This one will be hard to beat.

Judd is right.

We should have quietly trudged off the field and practised our eye gouging techniques.

Well the celebrations should have ended at midnight last night.

Time to Re-Focus.  And get nastee.

That was just a piece of soft media. I seem to recall that Judd was a Demon supporter as a kid (not sure where I heard that). He seems to really rate us and has backed us all year. The 'Celebrating too hard' was just trying to find a new media angle. I'm guessing they worked quite a while to find an angle that was different from other shows.

I'm saying that after being in that thread that its funny how so many people will defend that guy if someone says boo about him but be so quick to rip into a champion of the game and act like idiots when he has an opinion that they don't 100% agree with god forbid.

not only was he a demon supporter his whole family was demons supporter, he even promised his dying grandmother on her death bed that he would one day seek a trade back to the dees, true story

That may well be the case. I knew Andrew before Chris was born.

I do know Chris was a Demon before Meth Coke drafted him

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
