I know this won't happen, but if Freo beat Collingwood in Perth, we will finish 4th with a victory.

Stranger things have happened.   At least its in Perth, and maybe the Dockers will want to avenge their woeful performance vs the Cats.

Wouldn't that truly be a thing of beauty?  Leapfrog over the enemy...!!  We can dream!

Another positive is neither the cows or port Adelaide are playing finals.

My neighbor is a cows supporter and an absolute [censored] of the highest order

Two words I have to say is SUCKED IN.

They didn't even look at the Crisp 'incident' nor should they.

Probably because a heap of commentators called it out as: bizarre, ridiculous, worst free kick of the season, umpire clanger.

They deserve all the karma they get, the stories I've heard of how Tex treated Jake all of last season is disgusting, then the after season dogging by Tex and others of Jake. Then the camp fiasco and Tex has had a stinker of a year. Got what they deserved I'm afraid.

Eggzactly LH. I like the last comment there.... "the only one who didnt have his eyes where they should have been, was the umpire."

There are some very funny comments in the Eagles supporters forums.

- Melbourne are much dirtier than I thought

- the umpires were cheating blatantly. Holding the ball doesnt exist for them. The amount of whining was unreal.

- AVB should have been reported for his hit on Cripps as it could have broken his neck

Read the same and have not stopped laughing all day. The umps were generous to both teams regarding HTB for the whole match but geez they had the umps on their side after quarter time 2 to 1. I recall years ago they had 26-1 at half time and now they expect it ALL the time. Nuff nuff's.

87 all over again! Think we may be about to find a whole new gear.

Is just like when 6 speed gear boxes became a thing...

Just a great feeling to see the win in Perth and to look forward to a crack at the finals.

What makes it even more noteworthy is that we got the win without our best key forward, our best key defender and one of our most critical midfielders. Of those three only Viney looks a chance to return for the first week of finals.

The way we played on Sunday in the absence of these three players and with other depth players also out injured shows me that we have the  critical depth to take on a challenge any team in the finals.

Go Dees!

So now we can play without looking over our shoulder all the time. No weight of expectation.

Will be very interesting to see how we tackle GWS without being mentally haunted. The floodgates may be opening.

There are some teams there and abouts that we owe something to. Geelong. Collingwood. Sydney. Hawks. The guys will look forward to meeting any of them.

GO DEMONS

We are swirling wine in a glass

The alchemist sits upon a broad shoulder

Peering into the abyss

On the cliffs edge sits a giant boulder

Nothingness into nothingness descends

Destruction is a citadel at an undetermined end

Searching for resolution

Steps seeking footprints

Vapour becoming stone

I love them saying we were dirty, I felt like we’d lost that mongrel we had last year. Yesterday we definitely had it back.

Been waiting a long, long time for opposition supporters to say that about us, and boy does it feel good.

Think you may have had too much of that swirling wine?

Long time reader first time poster. How proud does this club make you feel right now! So happy with their effort. Bring on the finals!

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
