We've been his [censored] for a long time. He has not lost a game against us. Time to turn the tide.

Goodwin has said Frosty will get the first look him. If that fails who do we put on him next?

I'm worried about OMac on him given the Geelong game. Would we throw TMac back down back?

I don't recall Franklin ever kicking big bags of goals against Melbourne. He is generally good for 3 - 4, but our losing streaks against Hawthorn & Sydney have been more about being flogged in the midfield.

Win the midfield, fill the space in front of Franklin to stop his leads and we win the game.

Buddy's big weapon against key backs is that he's quicker than most. Frost has the speed to keep up with him, we just have to hope he's up to it.

Buddy can’t take a pack mark, Frost has the athleticism to stay with him all day. He can also run off him and make him accountable. As already alluded to we need to win the clearances.

I think his overhead marking has been much better this year, he’s no Carey in that aspect but an area he has improved this year.

It's not just up to Frost to defend. Hawkins kicked 7 against us not because Omac did a bad job, but because we did a terrible job defending as a team when the ball was won in the centre, or cleared off half back.

Buddy is the same. We have to defend well as a team to give Frost a chance to actually defend Buddy one on one.

I can't recall Franklin ever having a day out against Melbourne.

His career average is 3.2 and 2.9 against the Dees, which puts us down the list at 11.

I am not saying it isn’t a team effort. But if Frost punches the ball away and spoils all day without getting a kick. It will have been a top effort.

Franklin is so mobile, so is Frost

Can we please double team him? we never seem to do this. they only have one real threat so surely we can do it

Let's hope Buddy gets the injection in his heel he got 2 weeks ago and not the one he got last week!

spot on... our defensive structure is a gift to an elusive forward such as Hawkins, Brown or Franklin.

Franklin's danger also comes from his ability to kick a goal from 55 metre on the boundary line. Gives him just that bit extra space to manouvre in. Luckily he often has off games when shooting for goal...  Hopefully Sunday is one of those days.

Correct. Just pray that there is an opportunity for Frosty and Pedo to forcefully sandwich Buddy as compensation for all the staged free kicks he has accumulated at the Dees' expense.

Fast start in the First Q would be great.

Get the confidence and the crowd up

Yes, would have to agree with that. Very much looking forward to his battle with Frost.

WHAT BUDDY DOMINATION? GET REAL!... FROSTY WILL FREEZE HIM INTO SUBMISSION .

Enough of how we played against certain sides and how the Swans would do a number on us .

However it is time to return the favour.

We will double team him all day the main reason why Pedo is playing is to drop into Buddy's hole.

I’m guessing Pedo got picked as the answer to your question.

Buddy has never dominated us.  Cant remember him ever kicking more than 4 goals.  His career goal average vs Melbourne might be the lowest of all teams.

Don't confuse his teams dominance against us with his individual performance.

Frosty will take the old man to the cleaners.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
