I am enjoying it! But this is not a done deal. We are not safe in finals and we have 3 very hard games left.

The bolded part is a great point, LH.  Not only did we have some walking wounded (I'd add Oliver but it didn't seem to worry him much!), but we are still missing Viney, Hibberd and Lever, three crucial players to our side.  It's a mammoth effort and I echo how proud I am of the team.

It could also be that our starting midfield is made up of 50 game players who maybe cant quite keep it up yet all game against more mature mids.

if Eddie didnt hit the post or even with those [censored] over there, even if he shaved it there would have been a free kick shortly after in the goal square to the crows.

It was not pretty, it was not easy, it was actually pretty damn ugly and we did not particularly play well for the majority of the game.

But my friends, all of that means precisely bugger all right now. The only thing that matters was the result and we did it. The game was not on our terms early but we just kept grinding, when the Crows came back hard and the memory of last week fresh in their minds they held firm. 

An outsider looking in may not understand why this was such a great win. But to hang on like that will do wonders for the mindset. We will restore the belief that we can do great things in this game. The was NOT a flat track bullies game from MFC. 

Dees, you did us proud! 

My heart was pumping in that last quarter and oh my did I get flash backs. You can see we some what learnt something from last week but we simply can’t afford to keep doing this.

Anyway... YOU BLOODY BEAUTY! Up the dees!

We played one good quarter. Not enough against good teams. 

The first half was a cauldron, as you would expect against a decent but not great side, with a massive home ground advantage, hanging on to their season for dear life. I’d love to be up by 50 at half time of every game but I reckon sometimes you also have to acknowledge the force of your opponent pulling in the other direction.

We destroyed them in the third. The less said about the last quarter the better, although nothing they did happened with ridiculous ease as it did last week. I’d say we half learned the lesson.

Anyway it’s a great relief to have this one chalked up. All positive feelings in this lounge room tonight!

Also, James Harmes, with a broken hand, still had 23 touches and 8 tackles and still curbed Rory Sloane's influence for most of the night.  He is really becoming a good, consistent player through the midfield for us.

Yep. Should have had a goal to his name.

I was musing during the game that our #1 starting midfield now has jumper numbers 11, 13, 10 and 4 in it. I definitely would not have expected that at the start of the year. It’ll be interesting to see how the mix changes when Viney returns.

I thought Maxi put on a master class in the ruck. Jacobs has been one of the best in that role over the last few years and Maxi dominated the ruck contest.

Absolute stellar performance from Harmes tonight. Was the biggest takeaway for me. 

JKH, ANB, Fritta, Gus exceptional, Mr. Magic Hands Clayton Oliver is just ridiculous.  Trac lethal on the boot as always, Frost was solid too (let’s give him the benefit and forget that last minute free against). Carn Dees! Massive and timely win.

Huge win for the club and huge win for the playing group.  When we hold onto a few of the close ones they’ll learn how to finish of these matches better.  Great experience going forward.

Need to hit GC hard next week!

I haven't been able to see the game yet, but I was checking on my phone and when we went from 30 points up to 14 points up with 10 minutes left, I completely lost all confidence.

I'm sure there were parts of the fourth which stank and we probably made similar errors to last week, but to hold on and actually get it done, on the road, with the extreme pressure that this game put on us just to stay in the finals hunt, is immense.

Adelaide is a good team.

Their last two home games were wins against West Coast and Geelong, and they had most of their best players back.
