Scott just verballed the umpire as he walked off the ground. You might as well talk to the cat. You'll get no joy talking to any umpire.

I noticed that too. He had nothing to complain about but that’s pretty hard for a Scott.

Not entirely related to this thread but does anyone know if the Cats v Dees game next week will be on Free-to-air TV? Or will we non-FOXTEL people get stuck with Brisbane v Adelaide?

Live on 7mate according to my Foxtel app.

He can't help himself. Perpetual whinger.

Hawkins looks like he is playing Melbourne. Dominating.

Has been in a purple patch of form of late. Bit of a worry for us in a fortnight.

Scott obviously has a great influence over Hawkins  - he has become one of the games greatest whingers.

Ablett has them both covered 'mono'...in his whole career I honestly think he believes not one free paid against him was there, nor anytime he's near the ball that he didn't deserve one.

...plus he's now become a real team player in his later years at Geelong and believes the same above applies to all his teammates.

Massive week next week and the week after. Play Geelong in a must win clash then Adelaide who Geelong have put into form.

Frost, the blanket, to cover the purple patch.

Selwood should get a week for a deliberate trip on Milera and not play us next week.  But its Selwood so they wont even look at it.

Scott could be in trouble, if it was abusive........

Not looking past the Bulldogs but beating the Cats down at Geelong next week to move two games clear of them and make their path to  the finals very hard would be so, so sweet.

Scott, Dangerflog Ablett, Selwood.....  they are so easy to hate.

Geelongs bottom 10 are shthouse. Contain a few and smash them next week.

It is time.

Regardless of what happens against the Dogs, ( We will have a percentage booster) we will beat Geelong.

Im serious.

(And a little drunk)

If We beat Dogs and go down to the cattery and knock em off we would have finished them off for the season.

FYI (Kardinia Park): I live 20km from this dump and refuse to attend our games there (every bloody year) on principal.

I have Platinum/Legends mship which gets me into all MCG and Etihad games.

But not K Park.

I go to all other Vic games and at least one interstate games each year.

Our cheer squad get shafted - placed on a flank as seats behind the northern goal (non Cats cheer squad end) fetch a premium.

If you roll up and expect to get $25:GA you may be disappointed. Even though it won't be sold out they'll tell you that you need to pay $35 min. for a seat.

They treat opposition supporters with utter contempt.

Furthermore, night games can be dangerous for visiting supporters. Their supporters have spent all arvo in the pubs.

I urge all MFC suuporters to boycott this game.

Seriously why aren't geelong coming under more scrutiny?  They could possibly be out of the 8 by the weekend.  This is a team that got ablett back at the start of the year.  Yes they don't really have a ruckman but they have a pretty good midfield and forward line.  I would think if they miss finals its a massive fail. Although funny if they do miss. Ablett would feel like he is back at the gold coast

And I think we can handle a few old ducks knitting scarves, even if they have been drinking all arvo.

Not that he'd be a big out - but Tex's hit on Tuohy should be 2 weeks and therefore misses our game?

He is lucky that he came back on, but had only eyes for the ball and still made high contact.

Haha. Reminded me of days at Vic park and an old Pies fan Mrs Johnson who would sit on the fence in the outer and try to hit us over the head with her umbrella as we put the banners up. After a couple of years we worked out that the girls would do that part of the ground (and she allowed them to put the banner up - not the guys) as long as she could put her Pie's tea towel over our banner.

At least 2 should be 3 eyes of the ball and elbow to the head. So what if Zach tuoy played out the game it was intentional high impact in my book it floored him.

Yes, but Tuohy coming back on means he passed a concussion test. So whilst it was high contact, its not considered as bad.

Tex is insufferable - so would prefer him to be out long enough for Adelaide to just miss finals. Means he can enjoy all the "success" Lever gave up.

Carlton by 27 tonight. 4 score reviews in which 2 will be incorrect. Charlie Curnow to dominate and kick 7.

If you own a rent-a-crowd business, you’ve done well this week.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
