What would you do?

Bad luck Jake you will be sorely missed?

Unfortunately it doesn’t mean much.

Give them a good piece of my mind... And my glass (it’s what we do in Perth).

for f@#k sake. this is a massive blow. we cant move tom mcdonald back again. he is much better forward. tmac makes poor decisionsck. roll the dice and play t.smith or frost down back. either way,  i think finals will be hard to make and we lost the Adelaide deal after this.

This is perhaps the greatest overreaction I have ever read on here. We better pack up shop. Sitting second on the ladder and we lose one player and you reckon we are done for finals

Gee do you suffer panic attacks, it is not 1950's player get over ACL all the time, you dont judge the trade over 1or 2 seasons, his young he will be back next year, and do you think we won't win 5 more games without lever.

There's a doctor in this thread who is totally overreacting.  He should know the prognosis so this is extremely worrying to me.  He's even diagnosed the side with 'missthefinalitis' because of it.  We're doomed!

If ACL related usually means bad news.

Terrible news for Jake. I saw it live and the change in direction on a shifting surface is classic ACL.

Unfortunately a risk of signing Jake was that he did another ACL. Hopefully he rehabs like the professional he is and ads some size and comes back bigger and better. Might be able to coach up his replacement as well.

Extremely poor form by them. Regardless of who you support, laughing at a young man who has suffered a serious injury and who will miss a year of an already short career means you are 100% a grub.

This makes me just as bad as them, but I really hope anyone who commented or even used a laughing emoji loses all of their worldly possessions in a house fire.

At least he wont have to front up at Adelaide Oval against the Crows. Silver lining.

This self described Dr may well not be a medico: possibly a PhD in Social Science (subcategory over reacting) ?

Obviously Adelaide don't have a memory as long as mine.

The mongrels pinched Scott Thompson when he was just hitting his straps with us. No suggestions from them that he was a traitor for leaving us.

And I wonder what they think about Gibbs going to them from Carlton.

I’d set them up with a left jab and then punch through them with a straight right.

taking pleasure out of someone’s misfortune is the epitome of scum

The world is full of hysterical clowns and you are obviously just another one.

The word starts with F and ends with K, this word can be interpreted in many different ways. But in this case its just in complete disappointment.

Exactly. I bet they wouldn't say the same thing if it was Charlie cameron who also left. and what you would want to say to them is Lever wanted to come home just like Gibbs did, so do you have an issue with Gibbs playing for your club? No one wants to stay at Adelaide

Enter Joel Smith...

Fingers crossed for Jake.

Not adverse to Joel coming in at some point but is he tall enough to play a loose intercept role?  Pedo bear maybe.  Or is it time to blood Petty?

Weids worth a shot?  Might be the best move for him (us) if fit.

KC and Drunkn might have something to add here.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
