Plow is irrelevant what a toss bag of yesterday's jizz.  Big deal that Lever changed clubs.  Boo Hoo Adelaide.  Not like every player on your list was born and bred there (Bryce Gibbs to name one...).  Seriously, if they need to target Jake they will be looking the wrong way.  The ball will be up the other end of the ground. Suck your own balls, plow.

I hope they do...

Carlton tried the faux tough stuff last week and look where that got them.

Where is Rod Grinter when you need him?

Please Adelaide, please, invest as much effort and thought into a grudge against Lever as you possibly can.

Also, please, Adelaide, be sure to give Terry Wallace a follow-up call and take in as much of his advice as your possibly can about all aspects of the game.

I wonder how it affects things that Walker, the prime sulker who blew this all up pretty much on his own, won't be there. I wonder how many other players at Adelaide actually completely understand the whole thing and have no hard feelings at all, and are a bit embarrassed about the silly fuss?

That photo, like so many of the stylish things that Sir Rod, the Grinter did on the field makes my eyes watery. I haven't felt like that since my dog died. It is just so touching how he would sacrifice himself for the MFC and the impending AFL Tribunal hearing every couple of weeks.  What was truly amazing was the sheer artistry of his method - complete, fast and performed in multiples of engagements with smart-arse opponents who fancied their capabilities. What would we do with a Sir Rodney these days? He could really play football, that bloke, as well.

Well put!

I am sure Lever will be petrified seeing  the frightening menaces that are Josh Jenkins and Tom Lynch coming for him before the siren.

Oh but wait, maybe they will send Bryce Gibbs after him.  Or Sam 'the hitman' Jacobs.

Puh-lease.

I can still hear the bone crack and explode from the Western Oval terraces in front of the John Gent(s) stand

Lucky to make it home that day...

The Locals were up for a fight

Yes, most certainly an ornament to the game. Used to get to the G early on game days to see him play in the Reserves team. Such developing class. Took the marks, kicked like no-one else you ever saw, handled the nasties on the field with aplomb and just before they hit our little rovers. Then into the firsts, went he. Did it all on a bigger stage to better effect. One of the greats. Did you see his TV interview with Mike Sheahan a year or two back? Pure honesty: 'I did what I did for Melbourne.'

Wallace. The same dikbag that Grinter phoned after the western oval incident who told Rod he was okay and don't worry about it who then turned around and ( I think ) tried him for damages. If you get a chance watch the episode of him with Mike Sheahan.

Wallace can go and .............................

Yes, the same sod.

Said to Rod, what happens on the field stays on the field, then later sued Rod and the club and got an out of court settlement. There is a reason his nickname was “dollars”

Yeah Lever should be petrified with the Crow thugs.

Viney should go to their huddle pre game and see whos up for it.

I don't even remember it, although I'm more than old enough to.

Did Grinter hit him from behind? The pic appears that way.

Wallace headbutted Grinter’s fist.

Walllace knows his footy but is also the biggest hypocrite. Sues an opponent for being whacked by an opponent but when coaching has his hit squads doing the whacking.

I don't think there's anything wrong with what Wallace said.

Neither do I.

It is curious the amount of vitriol that is thrown Lever's way, but absolutely nothing is levelled at Charlie Cameron, who left Adelaide with a year left on his contract and for worse compensation...

At some stage Adelaide needs to have a good look at the people they have in leadership at their club and stop blaming others for their players regularly wanting out.

That was the first ever report by video, and they invented the rules for it on the spot. No umpire saw it at the time. Ultimately six weeks suspension IIRC.

Recommend searching on YouTube for the episode on Open Mike, is easily found

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
