There should be a dislike button for comments like that Bugg is a spud.

He's not you know but your over reaction is almost amusing.

Even if you kick 1:4 .. it means you have got the ball in the scoring zone 5 times...........not bad

I have only seen the first half on TV.

WTF suggesting that Burnie gets KOd for that?  NOT high and no consequence though the lying CFC doc after last year will no doubt say that the "victim" was severely concussed, broke his neck and will never play again.

Will Vince get a fine or cop a week?  Jumping off the ground is a bad sign. But Thomas was ok and only hit him in the chest

Wouldn't think he'd cop either. You can jump as high as you like providing you make legal contact. As you say, got him in the chest, no free paid & Thomas (to his credit) bounced straight up

A hit like that is a thing of great beauty

I agree but weirder decisions have been make from both MRP and Tribunal this season....

Garlett has been stiff and if he breaks in to play in this huge game it will be because the MC think he is the best option for one of the best teams in the league.

God I hope we beat this mob well, the amount of crap I’v heard from Adelaide fans this year about Lever. Plus living in Adelaide doesn’t help.

Can someone tell me why the player dropped from last week would be made cary-over emergency this week?

Tyson was obviously dropped for performance reasons, yet he isn't given the opportunity to work on those areas the following week in the reserves.  And to add insult to injury, they (Casey) were playing an insipid team which would be the perfect chance for Tyson to work on his game.

I rarely criticise the coaching/selection/etc, but this decision is just plain poor.

$1.87 favorites v the crows how did that happen

The Cows have no Walker, McGovern, Sloane and Crouch brothers. No reason why we can’t win this well.

Yea they have been smashed by injuries, we for once are having a decent run

Who were the other emergencies? Pedersen has missed games and deserves a crack at getting back in the team, as do Garlett and Hunt, two guys close to the best 22 if not in it. I'd suggest they picked Tyson as he was the best emergency we had and if there was an injury pre game or coming in to next week to any of the midfielders he'd come straight back in. Belting Frankston would do little for Tyson, he needs the best quality opponents at VFL to play against. As long as they rotate the carry over players I really don't care how they structure it.

Only an opinion but maybe it had something to do with Oliver’s broken finger suffered last week and surgery on Monday.

If there was a chance Oliver couldn’t come up Tyson would be the most logical replacement.

Bernie shouldn’t go for his bump but then NikNat shouldn’t have gone for his tackle so you never know.

No change.

think bernie will get a fine. .....only because thomas bounced up straight away like nothing happened

After 109 point win, and I’m still grinning, normally wouldn’t make any changes, but I would give Spargo a rest next week and bring in Garlett.

Spargo has been going really well and is very competitive but looked a little tired today in the 2nd half.

Bernie stays on for Crows and that hit on Thomas is a bit of what he brings every week, and every really good team always has a few tough players.

Yep, lock it in. Garlett will come in for Spargo. Spargo will be “managed”..

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
